that depends on where you are driving and I suppose your schedule,, there are some lovely roads and scenery in the states, mostly, depending on taste , out west.

Just booked flights to Albuquerque next may - considering driving part of Route 66 through Gallup and Flagstaff but not sure if it's worth it - alternative is to go east to Amarillo/Lubbock and Dallas

east out of Alb to Dallas is warm, pretty flat and featureless , personally I love it but might not be to everyones taste,, but west is brilliant, take time , if poss, to nip up to santa fe and the canyon then back down to flagstaff then out to california,, what is not to enjoy..
