So what have you done today..?

  1. Well today I had some signs to make so I took the opportunity to change the phone number on my magnetic signs, then as everything was set up n I had some spare bits of vinyl left I made some random bike decals.

It only rained here once....sods law, I really must go pick my bike up n get it home. I've got its new boots here waiting to be fitted and some other bits and pieces to put on it.

Got tomorrow all planned out too.....see if I do any of it...

  2. Come on then mate, spill the beans, what`d ya do?

Am I on the right track?

I`ve washed both my bikes, we`re off out for tea later, then its count the hours down to night shifts all weekend :frown:

  3. My confession.
Washed both bikes earlier. My BSA fired up straight away, not so my Ducati. Plugs out, they are wet, no spark says I, water in the electrics is my diagnosis.
Seat off, tank up, a good blow over with an airline and a spray with a moisture displacement spray, no joy.
Plugs out, battery on charge and I set about it with a hairdryer, yes, I`m getting desparate now. Still won`t start.
Just went out for a quick look, noticed something amiss on the right hand bar, moving the kill switch to ON now results in the bike starting
Must have caught it when I leathered the old girl down .

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am, a dingus

  4. That old chestnut! Who hasn't done it?!

  5. I am about to go and see Avengers Assemble Jejjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

  6. Erm....the only part of the plan that was executed was that I managed to record the backing track sets, that I had to get done, two 45 min sets for a supprise birthday on the 2nd and one 60 min one for a wedding on the 30th. They just need running through now.

Oh well all the other stuff, that I didn't do will start to make the next plan.....

Much more of the wet stuff n the extreme ironing may become a reality......f*cking drought!

  7. Cooked brekky. Done laundry. Spoke to Mrs K (she's due back home today after visiting folk). Watered stuff in greenhouse.

Pondered having a shave (still not decided).

Put on Planet Rock loud as I want.

Next - get bike out. Go to Brighton then ...somewhere else

  8. Gotta fit some fork springs, put a tank back on, get a bike MoT'd, see some prospective house purchasers, and fit the carpet to the van floor ready for Snetterton BSB next weekend.......all the walls are done now and the Satellite is ready to set up for the van telly.....

  9. Was planning on getting the bike out and doing several laps of a short circuit taking in a few villages to scrub in new tyres - twisty roads!

But first, have second attempt at changing final two wheels on wife's car (summer tyres now).

The one I couldn't shift yesterday (brand new Ford Fiesta) still won't shift now. Seized on. Sod it then - I'll take out the bike. Then the drought came and that put paid to that little plan.

    Bugger.

  10. The daughters coming home to stay for a while so I have been fetching furniture in my van from her flat to store here, (anywhere but the garage) I'm frightened to ask how long for!

  11. Are the wheels seized on the hubs, or wheelnuts seized on the studs, if it's the wheel on the hub, loosen the wheelnuts 1/2 a turn and go for a quick 1/4 mile drive, this should unseize the wheel, if it's the nuts, use a penetrating oil, let it soak, then try tightening then undoing the nuts, Good Luck!

  12. Ripped the clutch out of my Triumph and fitted a newer basket. The original owner commuted into London every day and the basket was pretty notched. Can't test it yet cos the bike's stripped down for a major overhaul. Looking forward to getting back on it soon though, cos it looks like the weather's finally broken.

  13. Many thanks for advice Dave. Nuts come off no probs. It's the wheel on the hub. I have been driving it this morning, but it's true that I did the nuts up again last night. So I could loosen them again, drive a bit and see if your tip works. Or I could ignore the whole thing (highly tempting). Drive it to the local garage it came from half a km away on Monday morning and get them to do it. Will take them about 3 seconds on a lift.

This is sounding like the better option...

At least in the crisis of my impotence I washed the wheels. They look quite nice now.

  14. Back to work today.....well when I say work.....I mean I attended, but also managed to fit into my hectic schedule the time to book my hotel and Motogp tickets for silverstone.....

  15. Yes, I 'attend' quite frequently too!

  16. I've got a great acoustic version of that if you're interested?

  17. Went for a ride on the Triumph for change. Always an 'interesting' experience when I next ride the 848 ....not surprising really.

  18. I found the Triumph I bought has a blown head gasket...or a leaky water jacket.......

  19. Lifted the carpets up on the stairs, landing and hallway, sanded the paint work ready for a painter this weekend. I`m not keen on glossing at the best of times so painting the banister spindles myself would tip me over the edge.

Just got back from a bike night at South Ferriby, full of professional beard growers from the local warlock clan.

I rode like a fanny there and back, I really do despair  .

  20. Found two excuses to go out on the bike from work, only about 20 or 30 miles, but it just feels so good to be out on the bike when I am supposed to be working, what's more I even get mileage for it!
