Into London today for office Christmas do. Before lunch, took myself to National Portrait Gallery for a dose of culture - William Morris exhibition. First part (concentrating on Morris and his 19th century contemporaries) better than 2nd half (20th century craftsment arguably carrying on spirit of Morris). Still love Morris's saying about having nothing in your house that you neither know to be useful nor believe to be beautiful. Arguably my Ducati Monster ticks both boxes. A few really good contemporary portraits outside Morris exhibition (love Paul Nurse, Camilla Batmangelidjh, Judi Dench, Martin Rees & Pete Postlethwaite pics, hate blandest-thing-on-the-menu airbrushed-looking Kate Middleton). Now downing peppermint tea in vain attempt to stave off hangover, especially as Saturday night brings further trip to London for UKMOC London shindig in Southwark Bavarian bierkeller with the threat/promise of tasty German bier. Just hope my pre-lunch hiccups don't return ....
After putting on three pairs of socks, four jumpers, three pairs of trousers, four woolly hats, three scarves, two thick coats and a pair of boots, I waddled outside today.
