Chatting to the fella who was wiping down my car, he and his mate are Kurd Iraqis and the rest are Romanians. How do they do it for the cash? Seems they have matierls delivered by blokesin vans from abroad...proper enterprise. Illegal or not
The majority of Eastern Europeans that I have met socially or commercialy in this country have, frankly, made me feel put to shame with their ethic of hard work, customer service and overall friendliness. I guess that has coloured my view of them.
In my area of Switzerland, they are essentially Romanian beggars, though even those that hung around my gym for years seemed to have moved on. I did meet a very attractive blonde Romanian banker on a plane a bit over a year ago... I don't think it would be that easy to set up a quick car-washing biz here - there would bound to be red tape. I did buy my alloys from a bunch of Albanians with a tyre business. Most East Europeans here are Kosovars which Switzerland took in when there was a war on in their country. They weren't ever likely to go back. Mind you, what would the Swiss national football team do without them?
This is what I have to put up with round here, talk about santa's grotto, the airport is only a couple of miles down the road, they'll be mistaking my street for a landing strip next.
Reminds me of my favourite school joke. At school rich boy says to poor boy. "What's that box behind your satellite dish?". "Cheeky bastard, that's our council house".
That's why I am poor mate and single Had to make the choice between a house n woman or Ducati's, I chose the bikes.
It's a beautiful place, even though it has some strange laws like not flushing your toilet after a certain time at night.
