So far today I have self censored, on one occasion. Also, when I arrived at the Pets Corner thread, I remembered that I have been given the day off, so I didn't post there either. It's been a good day so far
An unexpected pay rise! Don't think I've ever had one of them. When I was called into the office I was expecting to get a bollocking for my shonky timekeeping...
In the end, I completed a few jobs at work today, drove the brand new Skoda Octavia pool car to a site and back, and took about as many painkillers throughout the as I can manage and still drive safely. I would very much like the cold weather to go away now, in part because my hip will hurt less but mostly because I have fewer problems with it if I ride my bike everywhere instead of driving everywhere. Also, I miss riding my bike(s). Still, mustn't grumble. Not sure why I mustn't grumble but I'm pretty certain I shouldn't.
It's going to snow here next week. Bring it on and let's get this skiing season going. I did another translation. I'm doing one for an exhibition on wine bottles. More interesting than most of these museum catalogue texts - I am actually learning a few things I didn't know. And I've been learning Enter Sandman on my Gibson. Some cool, heavy sounds!
Finally got my refund from zavvi.co.UK after a month of trying. Amazing what quoting Trading Standards reference numbers does.
Been in a 9 hour intensive meeting with a JLR Director and Senior Management (or Grown Ups as we call them) - no brake as such, working Lunch, my heads a little scrambled. Good meeting though ead:
Set up my new GoPro on the Ram mount, hope the snow stays away this weekend now so I can test it out!
I left about 1:30ish I think went back up to Box then buggered off home long way round. Will see what the weather is like at weekend and might get out again if it stays dry.
Wasn't by choice. 1st bucket and sponge wash was at the start of the year for the VFR as it needed one after the Oct/Nov/Dec riding, then on the Saturday i rode up the debris strewn A29 to Boxhill and on to Newlands with Stuart and Rob, the ride back down south at the end of the day i followed Torquepen along some country roads awash with mud and everything else flowing down it so by the time i got home after about 110-ish miles my bike was gopping. Here's the sponge after that first wash lol.
I spent all day knocking old plaster off a wall and taking it the tip. Whilst our kid the chippy assembled the new oak staircase he's been making for me. sat watching snooker and having a pint now.
