  1. day of to go to docs to see about my shoulder which was a waste of time as he told me exactly what the "specialist" who done the scan told me and i still have to wait to speak to another doc to tell me the same and make an appointment for steroid injections that i dont want.
Got sent to a clinic for blood tests but after driving there and finding a park it turns out that although they were open they only do blood mon weds and fri.... great....
So now im munching codeine, drinking red and watchin shite movies

  2. I do hope everything is okay with you?:upyeah:

  3. Sounds like you have the right meds going there.

  4. :) they seem reluctant to give me anything stronger than codeine because of my drug seeking behavior....
but with the red wine it works ok...

  12. What's up with the shoulder and don't have more than 2 injections apparently they make the muscle waste away

  13. Yes so far, they are in investigating a persistent cough I have had since oct 2013
Lungs are all clear on X-rays and so far blow tests
    Upper airways next

  16. Thankyou for asking Ducbird. In pretty good spirits today-started one of me bikes up.I have also been looking at possible new bike for the spring.Physically I am not brilliant and this has been my worst time of not being right.I have resorted these last few weeks to pill popping, not good I know, but needs must.
I am luckier than a lot of people as I have a smashing family looking after me.:upyeah:

  17. great... thats why i dont want the injections, i raised this with the doctor today and he said you can have up to 3 shots in 12 months, the points highlighted in the nhs information (online) are worst case scenarios and as long as the doc administering the injections is a good shot and it goes directly into the tendon it can be quite effective in eliminating the symptoms i have.
I can expect any where from no relief right up to semi permanent, that means if i never use that shoulder again for anything strenuous it may be ok. All confidence inspiring stuff.

  18. I had two and the doctor administering them told me that he wouldn't give another because it's not a cure and would waste the muscle next I had general anesthesia to manipulate scar tissue to enable the shoulder to move as it had been frozen from being fractured

The injection does give relief but it's short lived maybe 6 months max then the pain comes back and meanwhile causing more damage as you can't feel the pain

I still have limited range but I have a adapted and know my limits
I have no strength to lift heavy objects
When they bring me a pack of bags at work they tuck them under my arm because of they let go my shoulder would be agony on the pull down
I can't keep it dangling by my side it's in my pocket often to relieve the pressure
There is nothing more that can be done for the shoulder either :(

  19. Sometimes needs must Merv if they help then it's got to be done :)

  20. That sux.. mine is inflammation and scar tissue on the tendon (in both shoulders with the right being worst) have been in varying degrees of pain for 20 years now but have still worked out and worked through it. stopped goin to the gym alot about five years back but my job is hard graft and getting impossible to do certain aspects of.
Ive always avoided the injections and relied on rest(where poss) and pain killers when it flares up. Now at the point where i cant sleep on either shoulder and pretty much cant use my right arm above shoulder height to any great effect.
Im left handed but my right is stronger and used for most things so im retraining my left.
third doctor i've seen and none will recommend surgery until ive gone down the steroid injection road (apart from the one doing the scan but apparently its not his call) waddayagunnado?
