I have just been out for an IAM observed ride,and I am bloody freezing.... Just under 75 miles,my observer kept me out longer than normal despite the temperature... And I can't moan about being cold,because he's 75 or thereabouts,and he can do it,I'm going to grit my teeth and bear it..
Is it a good course ? Been thinking of trying to do something in the spring and this seems better value than say 'get cornering' @ £200 plus a day - bit rusty this year not been riding over the winter much @Lightning_650
Having been harassed by the style police on every ride last year I had to have the footrests anodised, got them fitted today so no further insults can be thrown!
61 today. Multistrada 1200 is serviced and new tyres fitted ready for the MoT. Track project is ready for Cartagena in March and flights and apartment sorted for ACDC at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona in May. I like being 61 . Andy
Happy birthday to both! Just about to finish a week's worth of work here in Glasgow. Looking forward to getting back home tomorrow night but have had a good time here. Been up to Glasgow loads of times before but just for 1 or 2 days. I think I'm beginning to like it. Met up with John @Old Jock yesterday and he kindly showed me around his bikes, top bloke. been into Ducati Glasgow a couple of times, again top bloke that Harry and met up some old obese colleagues of mine who I hadn't seen since last year.

I'm not sure it can be described as a course....when you sign up you get a book,you read it,and then you go out and put the theory into practice. And interspersed with the practicing you can book up and have an Observer following you on an,(surprise surprise),"Observed ride".He/She will de-brief,(oo-er missus!),you at the end,and help you with advice on where you may be going wrong.Observers are volunteers,and you are expected to contribute to the cost of their fuel,(with my bloke it's a very reasonable tenner per ride). Probably sounds very dull and a bit,"Life in the correct lane",and tbh I thought the same until my nephew started doing it and goaded me into doing the Bikesafe /Police/local Council thing,(which was great),and the nice Policeman told me that as safe as I was,everyone benefits from regular training and assessment. I've had four Observed rides now,and I've done more winter riding since November than I've done in years....I look for every opportunity to get out and practice systematic riding. You can probably tell I'm enjoying every minute of it....

Finished loads of work for Trafford council and finalised our holiday plans for Mexico. Enjoying montepulciano now.
