  2. Bal(Scratch Pervert) and I went for a blast this aft around the roads of Tuxford and Newark and then over a brew decided to take a hike over to Italia Moto (Lincoln). Bugger me, we went all that way to discover they close on Wednesday! We stood looking through the window like a pair of sad gits. LOL. Great ride out though.:Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased:

  3. It was a good ride out mate... even if we did look a little dodgy peering through the windows of a dealership out of hours

  4. I've had a paperwork day, concentrating on producing a proposal for a project that could be the largest we've ever done. Fingers crossed please :)

  5. spent the day with the VAT man, accountant and bookkeeper.

    Now have a headache

  6. Drove past the end of the runway at Filton today. Stopped to watch a kestrel doing his(her?) party piece of hovering and scouring the long growth for breakfast. Watched it for quite a while, against a backdrop of Concorde sat by the side of the runway. Natures aerodynamics are always beautiful, sometime we humans get it right too.

Was a pleasant few reflective moments-there are good things, right things in the world if you take time to look, and think. Mellowed me for the day.

  10. Sorted out Friday lunches for the next three weeks, got a good table at Dubbous which is always a bonus.

  11. Received notice at work that I will be heading up a week-long project, next week, the first of the new reporting period. I wonder if it will be remembered by the end of the reporting year?

Work was stressful and at times incomprehensible. And long. Some very strange faults that defied analysis and explanation.

Rode to Loomies after work, in the wonderful sunshine. Noticed that the 750 was blowing from one cylinder so I took a look ... rear cylinder exhaust bracket was rattling around on the pipe, with no sign of the exhaust ring/gasket or the nuts that are supposed to keep it all clamped in place.
You know, if I had wanted to undo those nuts for some reason, I bet I would have broken off the studs.

And yet, for some reason, I feel I'm in a good mood this evening. No idea

  16. Rode to work and hit fog, proper thick freezing stuff, worked and went home. I think my depression is easing, must be the dry and sunny couple of days.

  17. Here's a suggestion. As the end of the reporting year draws near, draft your own report based on notes you have kept throughout the year (starting now) about things you have achieved. Send it to your reporting officer, and tell him this is what you are expecting to see in your report - unless there is anything he doesn't agree with, in which case you want a meeting with him to discuss it.

Or you could just sit idly by, awaiting events and wondering what your report might say.

  18. Yep, that's the plan.

Previously, I've kept records of achievements, successes, customer appreciation, etc, and sent copies to my employer during the course of the year. However, year-on-year, I've gradually become lax on keeping a record of everything that goes on. I started taking my employers recognition for granted.

    Not gonna happen, this year.

Of course, my employer is obliged to inform me when there is likely to be an alteration of my end-of-year assessment, during the course of the year, in order that I can take steps to correct the situation. He failed to do this for this last year.
There are not meant to be any "surprises" during the final appraisal for the year so I imagine that I could, if I so wish, successfully challenge my final marking.
Hmm, I wonder what other bridges I could burn.
