Today, I was in a Chinese restaurant for lunch and it was unusually busy. Lots of Chinese in suits etc, next thing what looked like a bride and groom walked in. We got our order and next thing they started the speeches. Part English part Chinese, is it mandarin, anyway, there was clapping and laughing, with the odd English translation. I like to think that was for my benefit. So I was a guest in a wedding reception in a Chinese restaurant over lunch.
Day 2 at Cartagena. Marginally better day as it didn't rain until 3 ish but still very cold and windy. Tyres take a lot of warming but plenty of grip for most of us - clearly not enough for the 5 or 6 riders who threw themselves at the scenery. Sadly a broken collar bone for one of the Dutch contingent. Great fun after the rain as slicks were banned and had an open pit lane. Girlfriend was the only rider out for half a dozen laps and no more than 5 riders when I got out. Got a loony on a 1100 Steetfighter who is 10 seconds faster than his mate on an 1199 . Still having fun, bikes performing great and met Josh Brooks today. Milwaukee Yamaha are here testing a brand new road spec (ish) R1 and wow it sounds awesome and bloody quick with Josh riding in the fast group. A bit off the pace he wanted but it's a brand new bike just out of the box so a 1:37 in the conditions is no disgrace. Difficult decision now to go for a beer or not - that'll be go for a beer then. Another day tomorrow and forecast looks a little better. Andy
Went to the Science Museum in Kensington today. I took the kids when they were younger, but haven't been since they grew up. Been meaning to.
