So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. I have spent nearly all the bl**dy day cleaning off copious amounts of dried ThreeBond from my alternator cover and the crankcase...........

Someone must have used an industrial mastic gun to seal it up the last time it was off.

The rest of the day, I have been being bitten by the damn puppy..........little sod.;)

  2. I have spent much of today speaking to women.

The woman doctor at my appointment this morning wondered whether it might be time to start reducing my pain relief medication. This, about two seconds after I had finished telling here that my pain is slowly but surely getting worse.
This of course puts paid to the notion that women can multi-task as she obviously wasn't listening to me whilst she was day-dreaming about getting knobbed by a fireman or something. I held my temper. Just barely.

Having arrived at the office and been put behind at work due to my appointment with the idiot knobbing-doctor, I was then accosted by a succession of female customers who all seemed to want to chat me up. One of them was a single-mum friend of mine told me that she was getting over pneumonia - yikes - and we then had our first decent chat in many weeks. She blows incredibly hot and cold, that girl. Shame, cos she is devastatingly fit.
Hmm. Is it National Be Nice To a Lonely IT Engineer Day today? It was almost unnerving (but very nice!).

I left work late yesterday (approx twelve hours after I arrived there) due to my 750 not wanting to start. Eventually, I called the RAC and a very nice chap almost immediately found the fault - pickup relay contacts were badly crudded-up. The rubber boot that is meant to protect it has majorly perished so I need to do a some work on that. Anyway, riding home in the dark highlighted for me the fact that the Osram Night Racer H4 headlamp bulb I stuck in there is ace. It also indicated that my beam was pointing in very much the wrong direction (I couldn't tell this with the previous bulb as it was hard to see whether it was switched on, let alone pointed in the right direction).
So I have been in the garage tweaking my bulb (oo-err!) plus telling some of the very nice local kids that I would prefer they didn't climb on my wall at the front as it is gradually disintegrating from such activity. I was nice, they were respectful so I suspect i will get fire-bombed later this week.

  3. Day 2 in Barcelona started as expected with a thick head after the jug full of JD I had before going to bed. Got coffee and churros to kickstart the day and just wondered down to Barcalonetta until lunch. Decided to take @Ducbird 's advice and a very nice lady in the hotel spar rubbed all my stiffness away :). Spanish take on sushi tonite and homeward bound tomorrow. Shame it's nearly over but got BSB at Brands in April to look forward to. Andy
