The government said that for every 1,000 lateral flow tests carried out, there was less than one false positive result, and the rapid tests were particularly useful at detecting high levels of virus. I guess it depends if you believe all, a little or not much of what they say.
Nope, from what I’ve read the kits themselves maybe as accurate as you state but out in the ‘field’ the tests aren’t as accurate. It very much is dependent on who is doing the test close to as low as 57% accurate in some cases. I’m very much sceptical of headline figures quoted by government, publicly funded organisations and private companies.
Its certainly true that if the person performing the test does it incorrectly, the results will not be accurate. This is why people with a positive result get a PCR test offer immediately.

Different to what I have heard, it has been reported that as much as 56% of these tests are false, as I found out to my cost. My first test, taken voluntarily,came back positive, much to my shock, was advised 10 days self isolating etc, then 2.5 hours later, negative test, was advised I probably didn't have Covid at the first test. Then last Monday got a call from Test and Trace to say our household had to isolate for 10 days even though my last test the same day was negative, because thats goverment guidelines. confusing or what!

No I don't have a link, but it came from a senior nurse in the NHS to me personally, so I trust it as true.

Had the AZ jab yesterday morning. By early evening started aching everywhere. Went to bed at 7:30pm. By 9:30 pm felt like I’d been hit by a truck that had then stopped and reversed back over me. Last time a vaccination had done that to me was when I got a Rabies jab many years ago. I hope this improves soon as it really isn’t nice. Full on flu symptoms , headache , high temp and every bit of my skin is sore to the touch. Feeling a bit sorry for myself .
Herd immunity via vaccine should certainly resolve this, provided we vaccinate enough people and subsequently maintain the vaccination levels, should that be required.
What are the grief junkies gonna latch onto now, they’ve had 12 months of griefgasms. I know long covid, mental health issues and all the ailments not treated by the NHS during the pandemic.
