So help me out here. I've done injection 1 but not 2 yet. If it doesn't stop you getting a dose then what is the point?
Apparently because when you do catch the ‘Rona’ it’ll help in some/most instances with the symptoms for those who are vulnerable to it. Hopefully meaning that those that would usually be hospitalised by it, won’t be. hopefully..
How else are the big pharma companies going to increase their share values unless they get a boost from the sale/privatisation of the NHS?
The first dose gives you immunity, perhaps 60% or more depending on which vaccine you received. The second shot increases your immunity to around 90%, and will probably mean the immunity will last for at least six months.
I think it’s fair to say that there’s a lot of question marks over the vaccine and many other things to do with all this.
I understood that the pharma companies are not making out of it, but doing it for the benefit of mankind - and Boris. Am I naïve?
This is like the Datsun Sunny of the pharma world............pull them in with a discounted product then hoike the price up to very profitable levels Ps. These vaccines have been in development for years and not just the past 12 months, hence the reason they could roll them out quickly. R&D costs will soon be recovered
Wrong! When I first started driving, my dad got a Datsun Sunny. I had some great shags in it when I used to borrow it. I have never had one shag in the pharma world
Who else, other than pharma companies, would people like to make vaccines and other medications. The governments of the world aren't creating nationalised pharma companies as far as I know so why would anyone be upset when these companies make profit? Since when is that a dirty word? Or are they supposed to work for a loss and if so, who would put money into that?
It stops you from needing hospitalisation Just because your vaccinated it won’t stop you getting covid just hopefully a milder case
But I prefer being hospitalised and looked after! My last one was brilliant. Three gyms (that nobody else used) good food around a table with others and I never had to do the washing up! Plus I was meant to show independence by going to the kitchen and making a coffee every time that I felt like it! I may be getting thing wrong her....
Well other than Pharma, and people with huge shares in Pharma companies....ahem..cough...Patrick Vallance's £600k (confict of interest denied obviously) https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4716 So apart from pharma, someone who's definitely profiting from Covid is the Chinese economy. Just had my first delivery of the free issue home tests from the government. Did you know that you get 7 tests per box, and you can order a new box per household every day of the week? So that's 49 tests per week for every household in the UK allowed, and the guidance instruction is to try and get people to have two tests per week. Therefore you'd need a household of 24 people to get through the theoretical amount you're allocated, a good use of public finances isn't it? And where are they manufacturered? Yep China. And where are 99% of 3 ply surgical masks manufactured? Yep, China And disposable gloves? Oh cmon you know by now surely? China, the world's largest exporter of Viruses and anti virus ppe and testing products. Smart buggers aren't they
The UK government alone put £210,000,000 into development of these vaccines. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-announces-record-funding-to-find-a-coronavirus-vaccine
I'm fairly certain I've read that Astra Z are receiving £3 per shot from the UK government - seems fairly inexpensive to me as someone who knows sweet FA about what it costs to make but is aware of the value of having it. Anyone noticed how the government & BBC have dropped the " British World Beating Oxford/ Astra Zeneca" to "Astra Zeneca" following the blood clot problems?
Astra Zeneca are supplying the vaccine at cost which was their decision. Pfizer, Moderns and others make profit. They take most of the financial risk so I think that's their right. But I for one I'm glad it's large pharma companies making vaccine and not some chum of Matt Hancock and co.
No! No! No! I am getting things so wrong today. First, ordering lager and now not getting the cars right! It was a Datsun 120Y! We did have a Sunny after that, but the 120y was the shagmobile! I hope this helps!!!!!!
Well I tested negative, going to test the cat later when I'm drunk enough to withstand claws and she how she gets on
