For an average person without immune system complications or effects due to other medicines: Astra Zeneca is rated after 12 days at 62.1% from one shot, rising to 90% after your second shot Pfizer-BioNTech is rated after 12 days at 52% from one shot, rising to 95% after your second shot Not great numbers in the short term, but fantastic to what anyone had prior! The above numbers are based on the trials but as the virus mutates, its is entirely possible that these figures will also change.

Had mine yesterday, Pfizer dose. So far only a tender arm where the needle went in, otherwise no other effects.
I’ve not heard of anyone who’s had the Pfizer one have a bad reaction, only those that have had the Oxford AZ one.
