I got my letter today saying that I could have the inoculation. All those who have had it in my road have gone the The Vale Hospital in Dursley - where I was a couple of years ago. That option is not available to me and they want me to go to a pharmacy in Bristol Centre. As I have no transport, nor any particular desire to visit Superdrug in the Broadmead Centre, I'm gonna keep any eye to see if more appointments are released. My first reaction on getting the letter, was that Boris has done well to get this organised so quickly. Now back on Earth with a bump! The places that they suggest border on bizarre - like Bath Racecourse, Bristol City Football Ground, Salisbury, and Birmingham - both a good train trip away. It is off-trend to want somewhere close to home, it seems. And the rule about staying close to home no longer applies.
Speak to your surgery. We have community nurses going out to people like yourself. They have been specially hired to do vaccines only.
My ex has been done at Cirencester Hospital. So, that is six hospitals and God knows how many medical centres nearer to me, but they suggest Chemist shops in central Bristol. I wouldn't mind so much if it was my local chemist!
Had Pfizer first 1.1.21 no side effects second one 23.2.21 arm ache back ache muscle ache 5 days but it means I am building up antibodies I hope
Got my invite on Saturday. Nearest place is a 70 mile round trip away, in an area with higher COVID rates than where I live. Will be waiting this out until my local site has capacity or my GP gets in touch.
Wasn't expecting to hear anything for a while yet at 51 years old. Anyway text on Thursday asking me to get booked in, had the AZ jab Friday afternoon at very efficient vaccination centre set up in local town hall. Side effects?....felt a little bit rough on Saturday but not enough to stop me doing anything, still did as planned; went running in the morning and laid a new shed base in the afternoon.
I'll call on Monday or Tuesday and I'm going there on Wednesday. I'll say that I don't mind waiting for The Vale in Dursley but at the moment it is not even an option.
I got, and took up, the offer of a jab in a pharmacy 1 mile away in Brizzle. Also got options of Taunton, Bath Racecourse and so on...
I recieved my letter from the NHS on Saturday morning, offers of vaccination centres in Bristol or at Malvern showground, I'm in Cheltenham... Will wait a week to see if I get a text from my surgery as local, and much lauded, vaccination centre is a ten minute walk away. Earliest date on offer for Malvern was the end of next week. Apparently there's something of a shortage of supply at the moment. However, someone who works at the local vaccination centre has stated that this, according to what he's heard from on high, will be resolved by mid this week with more vaccine than previously.
