Yes its strange how well they seem to hold their price, and imo its for no good reason other than supply & demand. Or perhaps its the owners wives that want the bikes sold? Asking £5K for a two yearold bike you paid lass than £6K, -and had a warranty- is insane.
I’m happy enough with my Gen II Diavel and the 996R restore, fortunately I don’t have time to ponder over chopping them in.
Yeah I’ll order a new Multi V4S but probably wait till mid March and hope Ducati do some deals, if sales figures are as bad as expected I’m sure they will offer some discount

Did have a thought about chopping in my 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX workhorse / tour bike , surprised me how good this thing is, smooth, comfy, great sports tourer and pretty bloody quick when you want it to be, both packs on it, sports and touring, panniers etc Slightly interested in the Multi V4 GT to replace the Kwack , until 'Swiss Tony' in my local Ducati stealership worked me some figures out,..my Kwack and £17 grand to change..!! Okay, ...you can f*@k right off, that's just not happening
I really need to part with some and make some space , that sounds very sensible though .. So maybe another KTM 690 , but then that depends on how far KTM go down the toilet pan.
I have had the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro for 5 months, 2,000 miles on it so just feeling familiar with it now. Can't think of anything that I would rather have (at the moment anyway )
Probably, as normal. Have no idea what though. And I would almost certainly sell one to make room. That's a bit of a quandary for me.
Timing, had a chat with a few people about this. I got my 2024 Pani v4s with a huge discount (1 due to being a cancelled order/in stock and also due to new one coming out) and was asked will I upgrade to the 2025 one, short answer defo not. Think this is my bike of choice for a few years yet, ill never get the best out of it anyway. Did ponder trading up my track bike from the 959 earlier in year to an R1 but as the demise of the R1 just announced they will possibly hold there money for a while, point so keeping the 959 now so a no from me next year
I dont think ill ever buy a new or nearly new bike.....its gotten way out of hand (prices) but not just bikes....lots of things but bikes are at the top end of the scale....KTM are starting to find that out...
Not me, I just sold my Multistrada. I will keep my classic Zed, but will not be buying another big bike. I am 64 now, most of the lads I rode with have stopped riding again. It happened before but I was in my 30's then. The Zed will never go, but I will not be adding to it I dont think. I am fit and well enough, but riding on my own does not have the appeal it used to. I prefer riding in Europe anyway
Just to add to my last post, can't see me buying a new bike for a few years yet, prices, Euro 6 emissions , overly complicated electronics are all things I don't want and don't want to pay for if I'm not using them, just more to go wrong, a friend of mine was recently stranded in the middle of Spain when his 3 week old 1300 GS shat itself due to an electrical fault, it was recovered and he finished the trip in a hire car! I'm thinking that my next purchase might be an early 2000's Sportsbike?? Either an RSVR Mille, with the Oz wheels and Ohlins suspension, or another 2003 954 Fireblade, great bikes in there day and lets face it how cool do they look compared to some of the new stuff they are churning out now?? Did a 3 week Euro tour on the Blade in 2010 and it was flipping fantastic! riding position was almost sports tourer compared to todays Blade, have great memories of that bike and I think it was he lightest Blade Honda ever made... I think the Blade in this colour still looks fantastic now! and look at the seat to bars height, dead comfy! Millau bridge.. Also, on the plus side, prices on stuff like this are holding real good, you certainly won't loose a great deal on them and they are just such engaging rides, great connection with the rider,...right, ..time to search Autotrader I think !!
You don’t get old riding a bike, you get old when you stop riding a bike. Aged 70 (71 in 6 weeks time) and so what, I ride with younger people, it gives them a riding standard to aspire to Andy
Caught up with my old IAM mentor at the weekend, he’s pushing 80 and still riding his late 90’s, 1 owner, Fireblade with 138,000 miles. Andy
