Halimaw - normally Pompone on the UKMOC forum sorts out Gallarate accommodation for UKMOC folks when we go there. Best bet is to register on UKMOC (sure you said you had a Monster somewhere) and get your head above the parapet and PM Pompone. As yet I don't think anything is booked. If Pompone isn't able to arrange anything this time round, I'll probably just have a look at Tripadvisor, book something in the area and turn up on the Wednesday night at the bar where the 100HP club hang out. Alex Ferro, the 100HP main man did register on UKMOC a few years ago so I might try and PM him first.
Hi Guys... it's all very well booking 5* but is anyone going with a sense of adventure ? the only thing I'll be booking is the crossing !! Me the Mrs and a tent !! Taking Germany Swiss route may even take the corner out of Austria stop over a few nights on the way down nothing planned as yet that's the beauty. Any couples might be up for it ??? She insisted we get an intercom !! Give my ears a break, 2000 miles?!** please help :frown:
A tent? Italy in July can be very hot indeed. However if you and your Mrs are accustomed to sleeping in the oven you should be OK. Personally I would go for an air-conditioned hotel room every time.
Not going to be coming from South France, but will be meandering round the south east corner for a few days on the way home. I'm a very slow rider so I suspect 99% of other Ducati folks would get extremely frustrated riding with me.
That's the wonder of riding a bike, you can go at your own speed. As long as your going to the same café or whatever, you can get the other 'faster' riders to order your drinks up for you so they're waiting for you when you arrive. Sorted
MrsC I've posted on the UKMOC about accommodation a while back, I had a few places surplus to requirements but heard nothing.. Just a thought: before we extend Alex and the 100HP hospitality to the whole of UK maybe worth checking with him or at the very least me.. I've seen on this thread people are stopping over in Gallarate and by all means, I'm sure they'll be delighted to see the English contingent stop for a pizza and a beer or twelve as always and I invite everyone to attend as they're a great bunch, but the UKMOC has always been the starting point for the visits, as we are the club connected to 100HP.
Matt - tickets are normally made available in advance through Ducati dealers or through official factory recognised Desmo Owners Clubs. Last time round I got mine through UKMOC. I don't know if it's possible to purchase "on the gate" but I wouldn't want to risk it - better to talk to your local friendly dealer if you're not in one of the official clubs.
Worth joining an official club to get 40-50% discount Matt. A years DOCGB or DSC membership fee is less than discount. UKMOC is free if they get tix.
I think that through a DOC you get 5 euros discount and a slightly different t-shirt with the DOC logo on it. Not really something to get excited about.
Normally the earlier you book the cheaper it is. As the train fills up the price rises, supply and demand
Right Booked in the 07:20 on Monday 14th, returning on the 19:20 on Wednesday 23rd. Going to take it steady there and back, booking into a hotel when and where along the way. The only hotel Ive actually booked in the one in Rimini. More than happy for anybody to tag along
I popped into Motorapido this morning and was informed that dealers don't get involved in tickets for WDW and was informed to speak to one of the clubs.
