  1. blind patriotisim has never been my thing,, if you don't know why we are in Afgh ( Iraq / Libya / Syria etc etc ) by now then I don't think I can explain it to you. another tip.. don't view world politics / economic and imperialistic ambitions throo the sights of your own gun..

  2. You assume far too much TTonup.

  3. Who are the self perpetuating charities you refer to?

  4. See what you did there, so what myths are they perpetuating?

  5. Oxfam would be the first one, but by no means the only one

  6. TT Troll the Putin lover :Bag:

  7. I never mentioned "myths", but since you do , Oxfam, eg., do not create the myth that Africa is a poor country in need of their help but are quite happy to make plenty of high salaries pandering to it,, Africa is not a poor country , they have massive oil and mineral reserves however they are being bled dry by international mining and oil companies the likes of Glencore , Xtrata Total etc, never once have I heard Oxfam speak out about this grand theft operation. Glencore is only one example,, so is oxfam

  8. I " edited " that a little for you ;)

  9. Too many people live in parts of africa where the infrastructure/agriculture/social structure/climate does not support he numbers currently. Large companies artificially provide the requirements for full lives (of their expat employees) and encourage (blindly?) the growth of the local population, therefore creating the opportunity for birthrate rises. The international charities may also be guilty of perpetuating habitation in areas where human longevity is marred by the local climate/infrastructure etc. War, tribal factions, religious zealots, criminal activity are all part of the aging of the countries and natural in their maturation.
Artificial assistance may be the worst kind of help given, but it is given at the behest of good christian folk. Stabilisation of Africa can only be encouraged by education, not by handouts and rape of the resources. Education will encourage maturation, bringing a slow halt to the dark age mentality that persists there. Has any one wondered why Australia is not teeming with starving, diseased people (ok I accept philip island is at times). Just maybe there is a balance of man and nature in Australia.

  10. Africa can only be helped by stoping the theft of their assets,, not pandering to the effect of the theft

  11. Africa is blighted by their own leaders who hoard billions in Swiss bank accounts whilst their people live in squalor.

To imply that African problems stem just from exploitation by western multinationals is to miss half of the equation; but that reality doesn't entirely fit with the anti capitalist agenda.

You make an interesting point about charitable NGOs and their highly paid executives; bit like our NHS and much of the Public Sector, where salaries and benefits are the envy of the Private Sector.

  12. If only it were possible to earn big salaries and enjoy excellent benefits in the private sector. Alas, that will never happen.

  13. yes for sure there are many ( many manys ) African leaders who are prepaired to accept and join in with the corruption but I don't think that it is in any way acceptable to exploit that situation to the degredation of the population and in many cases the environment in the name of the obscene profits taken ., sic, and then glorify in the " wonderful work " done by aid agencys

  14. Yet you like Putin?

  15. eh ?? and the connection ?? :Banghead:
