Something New From Kawasaki

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Lucazade, Sep 14, 2014.

  1. Think ill wait for the girly version with a double swing arm, and only 225bhp.

  2. Yeah - take Suzuki.....theyve just stripped the fairing off an already old GSX-r - they may as well just give up now....im not saying they've gotta up the power stakes but maybe some electronics and a bit more radical styling....

  3. Any physicists or engineers on here want to hazard a guess at what the top speed is likely to be?
I know there are complicated equations about how many bhp extra you need to achieve incremental mph after a certain speed - all about pushing air out of the way.

Bearing in mind that MotoGP bikes are doing about 210 mph, I assume that this is going to be capable of more than that - more like 220 mph or so.
    Am I wrong?

  4. If Kawasaki can add a supercharger and carbon fibre bits, what is stopping anyone else? I imagine that Kawasaki just took a leap into "irresponsible land" that some of their competitors haven't dared to do for corporate reasons. But they probably will now. They may feel that they have to.

  5. yup - that's why I admire companies like Kawasaki and ktm (they spring to mind) theyre radical with their styling and make a leap of faith in a way....Ive gotta say I like the new z1000 I had an old 04 model about 4 or 5 years ago and loved it. Ive toyed with getting rid of the RSV4 factory I have for one...but stopped short as ive got the hyper and the z1000 has more or less the same riding position....

  6. Nah I have a feeling, that it wont be much faster than a Busa or a zzr1400, which is still a huge achievement. May see 200mph in road trim, but in track spec, who knows. The only places where riders may find it out is at the end of the Hanger Straight, at Bruntingthorpe and just before they kill themselves at Snetterton. All the talk will about 'useable torque'

  7. There's some awesome stuff going on in the sports bike market at the moment. So much progression.

  8. Having said all of the above and what has been said, I like the way Kawasaki is going. Its great to see new stuff....im guessing if one of these H2r's is allowed into WSB or BSB itll clean up - just with that one bike alone there's enough material for all the usual publications (PB FB etc etc) to dine out on it for ages...

Still love my lumpy, clunky hyper 1100 evo though!

  9. Kawasaki built it coz they could, they have been king of supercharged compact engines for years, IF the likes of suzuki could I am sure they would, can't wait to see the road ver in a few weeks time.

  10. Love it...... As much for the fact Kawasaki have had the balls to produce it as anything else.

Can't help thinking though this is just a show bike and a few things may not quite look the same once released.
And also that this could just be a bit of a one off to showcase what they can do before using that technology for producing more sensible mildly charged smaller capacity bikes producing similar power to NA bikes but with better economy, emissions etc, better spread of power and low down grunt?!

    But hopefully I'm wrong and they're just gonna go crazy giving us a 170bhp 400, 200bhp 600 and 275 bhp 1000!:Woot:

  11. What mirror's, there ain't any mirrors on that bike...

  12. At least it has a big spinning, whirring, chirping heart

  13. Next video 6th October, wonder if that's the road version...

  14. I have owned several Kawasakis and I still think they are the best bikes out of Japan (apart from a couple that is....)

One bad one: Z400; another: 1000LTD.......

Had a couple of the early triples.......like riding a blind pig on Acid, but hell, did they go well in straight lines.

Although the ZXR750 was damn good it was painful to ride long distances...over 60 miles or so ;)

The ZX10 was really good, but was easily surpassed by the early ZZR1100s especially when de-restricted.

We used ZX10 and ZZR1100 engines in our outfits...........never failed us, apart from some fuelling issues (wrong carbs or jets)

The only engine failure I ever saw was a 600 engine in an F2 outfit when a rod went through the block.

  15. Built Beyond Belief - Brilliantly Bloody Bonkers :Wideyed:, 300 BHP faaaark that would be my green alien ;) who ever said the Nips had no sense of humour, love it definitely a widowmaker, you'd have to get one of these to go with it :upyeah:

  16. They look cool but believe me you can not see a thing in those. They suit the bike very well despite that flaw as you can only see what is directly ahead of you :)
