Sorned - To Fire Up Or Not To Fire Up

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by rivets, Dec 7, 2014.

  1. I got them second hand from a forum member with a complete compliment of rivets too.

  2. Don't be hard on yourself.
Apart from your spelling, grammar and punctuation on your original post, you nearly got it right.

  3. Thanks but when trying to be funny it's best to get it right.

Did I ask: "Where did you get the Qat D's rivets (if the pair of exhausts is regarded as a singular system) - or: 'Where did you get the Qat Ds' rivets' (if they are regarded as two separate items)? And does not the capital R in Rivets denote that I'm referring to you by your forum name rather than those useful little metal thingys commonly used to hold stuff together? Just asking!

  4. Where? Do tell. Please don't tell me there's an apostrophe in Qat D's! And your criticism would read better if you'd said: "Apart from the spelling, etc", as this construction would avoid repetition of the possessive pronoun your in the same sentence. And it should really be "in your original post", not "on".

    Run away!

  6. Ditto when people can't be arsed to make clear what they are trying to say by using our amazing language correctly and leave their interlocutor to sort it out. Or use capitals unnecessarily!

  8. You ask a simple question.......

  9. I suppose someone has to mention that, unless the said rivets were extra, spare ones, for no extra charge, they were a complete complement. Compliment vs Complement

  11. Perhaps I've missed the point, but if you stick to minor roads for a quick warm-up there shouldn't be a problem with ANPR. Assuming the bike has insurance and MoT...

  13. Or even bothered to finish junior school (just banter, no offence intended!)

  14. I just want a bloody Qat D/pair of Qat Ds - can anyone help? Sell me yours, Rivets, your neighbour will love you and mine hasn't spoken to me since a crowd of us arrived back at my place on our bikes at 3am five years ago, and we took great care to be quiet too!

  15. Nope, sorry, invested too much including air filter and CJS tune to part with them now

  16. I think they look great and really suit the bike. Are they as good as they look? Looks like I can only source them from Bellissimo Moto in the States as the firm in jersey that used to sell them has closed down. How much do you reckon the additional mods cost you?

  17. They are very good, the MWR Filter was about £70ish and CJS tune circa £400. The bike runs superbly, especially at higher revs making "pressing on" much more enjoyable. The improvement in throttle control is amazing over a standard setup. I know it's a lot of money but I'm very happy with the results.

  18. Speed I just thought I would add to the confusion by writing a sentence with no gramma what so ever. :)

  19. SCHOOL? What's that then when it's at home?

  20. I thought all the grammar tosspots hung out on Pistonheads?

For my two penneth, a comma after the pipe reference would have made it all the more obvious...Qat D's, Rivets?

    S'funny though ;)

I have this problem with my '76 Kettle - metal tank half full, not ran since Sep/Oct, but there is no way I can run a 2 stroke triple with unbaffled spannies on the drive for 1/2 hour - I would be run out of town! A blast around town with this salt on the road and it will be disintegrated come the Spring?
