nice pipes but outside of my budget you may be better getting a couple of variations made up to suit carbed ss & monsters, both of which are larger markets than the injected ss
Hi Madasl l know what you mean about finding a good tube bender that can do tight radii who did you use? regards Steve
AndyB - up yours. I have many more important things to do than keep this forum up to scratch............. any road up, here it is, tight bends 'n all.......... ............and as you can see the cans are not quite finished, they were made and fitted on the bike, the cans exit as a pair straight out between the frame rails. They are intended for a cafe racer project. I will machine my own design end caps from a single piece of ally.
Popelli - thanks for the note. The good news is that with the adjustments made to the design the carby SS range is also a good fit. I have not test fitted on a Monster yet but I am aware that the swingarm may have an interface problem and when I make one it may be ever so slightly different. Have to test fit one first - any volenteers?
Nice well polished items. I'm not after an underseat set and its not a 'traditional spaghetti' type system but a 2 into 1 into 2. For racing I prefer outboard high level end cans as I use alloy items for crash protection. They take damage and can be rewelded as a repair to get back out with little hassle and the frame/engine is kept of the floor (mostly) Good luck with the rest of your streetfighter build.
I know you're not after an underseat set up, I know the reason you are using metal not carbon and why, I was saying the finish and cost of your pipe set is not particularly attractive and quite dear for what it is. My pipes are not highly polished, they are "as they came" to me. It's a decent spec stainless system in 18 guage cold drawn seamless. It's 2-1-2 to get around the shock..................it's a standard frame and shock arrangement after all.
Having reviewed how the first set and the prototype have gone I am concidering a second batch of 5 if there is enough interest. This time the offer is - 1. With gas analyser plugs fitted - £500 2. Without gas analyser plugs - £450 Please PM if your interested. Picture is of the last three of the first batch prior to dispatch.
MADASL, have you still got any of those available? And would it fit DS1000 in a Sport Classic monoposto? Or alternatively could you make a custom one off system? I was thinking about getting something like this for my SC but maybe with shorter and smaller cans - something like Ace 1200CR has.
Iceman - The next batch is in production with one left - the remainder presold. They will be ready in about 3 weeks. They will fit the SC 1000ds with no issues. We would also be up for a custom build to suit your needs - could be different outlet angle or outlet diameter to allow an end can of your choice. Thanks for your interest - please email [email protected] if you wish to discuss further options. Regards,
Looking forward to it. We are also ammending the design to allow fitment to 851, 888 and early monsters. More of the ducati range in the future.
