There is a"works" Audi Quattro Rally car in NZ, was raced in the WRC group B class by Stig Blomquist (sp.), no longer used in anger, but I did see in run in a very wet Queenstown Street Race in the '80s, it was feckin' impressive, and OH that sound.... http://www.otagorally.com/home/news/99-mouton-to-drive-audi-quattro-at-otago-rally https://www.facebook.com/newzealand...malcolm-stewarts-audi-plus-/1364296236934581/
Took the Mrs to see the Shlumph collection in Mulhouse a few years ago, seriously that is what it is called! Knocks spots off of Beaulieu, for the collection of cars. Amazing that the family managed to hide the 100+ Bugattis from the nazis during WW2.
Facel Vega. Choice of pop stars, royalty and Hollywood actors. Ringo Starr, Ava Gardner to name a few.
The Facellia was a bit of a disaster though. A small sportscar with a 1.6 engine isn't in the same league as the bigger cars - and difficult to charge coachbuilt prices for. The original engine was unreliable so the later ones had Volvo engines - nothing wrong with that as such and although the B18 was reliable and performed well they weren't renowned for refinement. All the rust and cost of an HK500 without the value and kudos! If they'd done the smaller car and kept a Chrysler V8 (maybe the smaller 318ci?) it could have been a good alternative to a Cobra or Tiger........
Yeah. Ford/Yamaha developed the 1.6 engine for the standard Puma. The FRP was a Tickford tuned version making 153 bhp.
