I ask as i had classic agreed value with Footman for 5 years, for 2x Yamaha 350lc+Kawaskai kr1s and when i got an 848 and went to get insurance for it with footman i was told i had lost my max NCB of 10 years because of the agreed policy and would be treated as if i was a new rider, i also tried many other insurance companies and got the same answer so had to start all over again for the 848, I'm now on just under 9 years of getting the max NCB back.
Yeah, it's kind of put me off buying a newer bike. That and the fact I've not got room or the money without flogging one of the old girls.
A challenging question for you sir, if you had to liquidate one, which one would it be................fingers in ears both bikes please now.!
I've not really had a chance to ride sps much yet, but it really dose feel quite special on a fast winding road....but superlight and I have been doing a few thousand miles a year since 2016 and have really grown to love it... It's a bit like being asked to choose your favourite child I suppose superlight because it's more common, tried to swop it for Cagiva 900ie elephant fairly recently.
I have 2 cars and a Honda ST70 on classic insurance When you get the policies it's clear in the terms you don't get a no claims bonus Where the ST70 was concerned it was cheaper to get a separate classic insurance than it was to add it to my multi bike policy
The problem was after a certain time i lost all of the ncb and had to start again, probably in the small print somewhere.
If you let your "ordinary" insurance policy lapse after a couple of years you lose your no claims When I took the car policies out they told me I would not have any NCD on the policy it was a stand alone policy As it was I hadanother car so it wasn't a problem If you have just one bike and it is a classic and it's cheaper to go classic insurance you need to be aware that when you decide to buy a new bike your NCD could gave gone
I personally think as we grow in age maybe the SL might be a little easlier on the wrists later on, hence why i've one in stock just incase.
I really find SL really comfortable, often do a 150 mile round trip to airfield. Just need a top box for my gear I agree it would be easier to live with in our senior years, it's also a beautiful bike to just stare at.
That's the answer. Besides having an everyday car I have 2 Ducatis and an MV on a multi bike policy so wasnt a problem for me.
