1) how are you going to fit "bungs" to a sssa on the right side?? 2) Ducatis have been standing on a sssa type stand...well since the 1990s.....and are in any case much more positive than the crappy dual sided bobbin types.....even if they would fit :Banghead: ...in fact i had a 999 which i used the sssa type stand on as it was better....
the bobbins are on a spindle that goes through the axle They then act as normal bobbins as if they were attasched to the swinger... here's a pic
you will find the std sssa paddock stand is much more positive than that and easier to fit to the bike on your own.
The Gubellini stands are as solid as they come. Ducati Performance stands are made by them, have a company showbike sitting on one of them for over a year now, very secure. Make sure you are using the right sized pin.
My 1198 lives on a aluminium paddock stand by Motorax (I think). It feels bloody solid and built to last (why do I now dread looking in the garage in case he's laid on his side with a collapsed stand under him?). The stand has a ball raced spindle too, although I wouldn't be brave enough to put him in gear while he's sat on it, it makes sorting the chain and cleaning the back wheel much easier.
I'm looking a stand for the winter. No idea what I'm looking for or what's good. So many variations. I Like the ones that lift the whole bike but expensive and honestly, I don't need one. The PIC above is nice but, again expensive. I know, cheap can mean trouble.
Wouldn't worry too much about it mate. Never heard of a stand failing. Then again personally wouldn't touch an untrusted cheap brand. Suggest you find one that is good for your budget and see if anyone had any problems with it.
Yup motrax... Solid. I had one with my last hyper thinking I wouldn't get another, and did. It was really hard to find the second one....
