had one before mate , they really are torquey ...they hoist up really well without trying .......in fact the mille is quite possibly the best handling bike ive ever owned ............
Didnt like mine, not as good as an early Mille even when geared down, got shot for a K6GSXR 1000. Now that lived up to the hype.
Such is personal taste that I found the opposite to be true. I only got rid of my Mille cos I found it uncomfortable; after which I had the use of a mate's K7 GSXR and found it equally uncomfortable and more gutless at normal road speeds. Sure it was fast, but I could never find the space to open it up. Thus my love affair with modern technology ended, I now have 2 aircooled v-twins sat in the shed that are far more fun to ride.
I like them, and would prolly have had one before now, but for the fact they are really tall and my short arse legs would never touch the ground. That said I never asked how much they could be lowered by either.
I bought my Mille as a change from a Ducati, which was a mistake as it wasnt a Ducati:biggrin:. I found the handling harsh with the Ohlins no matter what I did with the settings, and the bike to be top heavy. The bottom end power was very poor especially compared to an earlier version, but it did have a good top end. Looked nice though. The k7 Suzukis were a different kettle of fish compared to the K5/K6, as they changed the engine for more top end. The earlier bikes were really grunty, easily lifting the front wheel over small crests in top at legal speeds. Just sold mine to a friend and cant really find anything real world suitable to replace it :frown:

White or red chief .... Or black ... Or .... Oh I don't know .... Gay fluorescent aprilia red is good too
Had two milles but the earlier taller model. At the time this was as good as twins get, great power, lovely sound, almost japanese to ride ie easy, great reliability etc, always wanted one in tricolore or matt black.
For me the Gixxer is just another mass produced Jap bike that I can't get enthusiastic about. I know they're great bikes but they don't have anywhere near as much presence and character as a Mille or a Duke.
