Stolen 1098s

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by kitfit1, Jan 21, 2013.

  1. other option, walk down the road and see if anyone has any in car cameras. A lot of them take a picture every 15mins when in park mode, ie the ignition is off.

  2. A week on and no news from the police, so i'm going on the assumption that it won't be recovered.

Next stage is to find a replacement, so have been lokking around and found a few good 1098s's.
But have been talking to a dealer about the possibility of getting an 848 Evo Corse, which would be for all intents, brand new.
Lots of advantages of course, new bike, traction control and slipper clutch. My question is though, would i regret that sort of drop in pure power. It will only be used on the road, just like the 1098s was..........................................thoughts guys ?

  3. yep.......get a bargain 1198, covers both power and goodies....

    848 are like C liquorices:wink:

  4. I've a mate in Kingswinford who's looking to sell a 1198S, in black. very low mileage and FDSH, LMK if your interested by PM, not sure what he's asking for it

  5. Didn't we meet on the overclockers uk ride out last year ? I did see it advertized but thought you had sold it a while ago.
If you've still got it, then i would be very interested......................might need to haggle a bit though.................it's a year older than mine was

  6. The new 848 Evo isnt slow by any means. All the above options are good thou. Still feel gutted for you about the theft dude. How are the insurers being?

  7. Whatever you get, I think I'd be keeping it somewhere else, they'll be back once they think your insurance has paid out.

  8. I don't think we met... I tend to ride alone  The bike is still up for sale... originally the price was, well a bit too high, but I wasn't in a rush to sell it. I then lowered the price to £8k. Everything is negotiable, although within reason  If you're interested or want to know more about the bike please drop me a PM.

  9. these look quite good, sensible price too, £45 from ghost bikes
you can set it up so it's silent [there fore intruder wouldn't spot it], but it will autodial your mobile to let you know someone has been in your garage. you could have another alarm to divert attention too!

of course there are more sophisticated systems, much more!

  11. I thought i'd give you guys and update on how things are going with this.
The bike is still missing......................probably in bits abroad somewhere by now.
I have now settled with the insurance company.......................never had to deal with one over a stolen bike before, but they can be right arseholes.
Stuck out for what i wanted and they finally agreed to cough up yesterday, after i threatened to go to the ombudsman.
Have now got a very nice 1098s lined up as a replacement....................it is just north of Inverness though, so the ride back should be interesting lol.
