Must be Ozzy's as if no one steals bikes there that means they already have all the stolen units (just going by your logic of blaming someone else). I am not condoning dishonesty, but at the end of the day the bike was stolen....now if it was stolen off your drive or from some arbitrary place 5 miles away the police won't care, and won't investigate....so does it make a difference where it was taken....no....fact is you've paid your money to be insured, now it's time it was paid for by the insurance!
When my bicycle was stolen after my parents' shed was burgled, insurance decided they wouldn't pay after all, as it belonged to me, not them. I wonder if my old Dinky cars in the attic there are covered - they belong to me too. Thankfully my own Swiss house contents insurance paid, despite the bicycle being in England permanently - it's never seen Switzerland. That's the difference between a quality insurance product and a cheap and nasty one. If you're paying premiums but basically getting no cover as the scrotes will twist and writhe to get out of paying, then even the premiums you are paying are too expensive.
I can't get insurance for my multi in london for theft as i have two addresses, even though the second address is very low risk , garaged etc. No insurance company will quote period. No company will take a secure underground car park with almax chain and squire lock to ground anchor as anything other than on street parking. Its ridiculous. renewal for a evo 1100 is £3500. Now if I was an insurance company i wouldn't insure in london either certain bikes. In one year , one fire blade gone twice paid out 11k , one CB600RR gone paid out 6k , same secure garage . When the police investigated my theft from central london the same gang doing 5 bikes a week. Caught the gang, spent a year prosecuting and max sentence was 6months suspended ! honestly crime did pay! , i fk ing paid for it and still am ! bastards!
So is that the same secure underground car park from which you've had 3 bikes nicked? If so I can sort of see their point. It wouldn't fit my understanding of the word "secure".
a wee story, a few years back working in aberdeen a mate of mine was a witeness where a group of lads attempted to run him over. i went along to spectate, the case in front involved 2 lads caught steeling cable from a yard. the two lads in question where brought in handcuffed, found guilty laughed and giggled all the way through the proses. both had previous and there mother's where hurling abuse guess what? both got suspended sentences, both got chased from the local halford's where i worked at the time the very next day after being spotted nicking stuff from the store. i managed to identify them from some mug shots the police brought in. i wonder what the sentence was that time?. by the way the driver and occupants also escaped prosecution. i can understand why the police get frustrated.
