  1. Btw hope you dont have a garage clause on your ins, or I'd be thinking about what I say on a forum

  2. that'll be a first.....

  3. I was referring to the scum that stole it! I thought it was obvious.

  4. Tip:- Read every square bastard inch of your ins policy before you call them. The moment they receive your call they will try every trick in the book to wriggle out of payment. When mine got nicked I was cross examined like a crim....

  5. does it not have any lights on it then....

  6. It was :Wideyed:

  7. Nay, nay lad. Nothing obvious in this world of word play....

  8. Mine announced it after I'd agreed to take a policy out with them, so much so that I asked them to repeat the clause, which also includes vandalism, fire et al.

Insurance companies know that people get lazy when they get home. "Oh, it'll be alright, I'll do it tomorrow."

Not that it helps. Makes you wonder if it's even worth the feckin paper it's written on.

    Bastards, both.

  9. My multi strada got nicked outside my house at 20:15 in May in the evening. Insurance would not pay! Garaged policy and I should have had my bike in the garage at all times.

Wrote an email to the CEO of Axa making it clear to him that the statement of fact clearly states "garaged over night" and that there is a difference between storage "at night" and parking! As there were no clauses stipulating where I could or could not park they had to pay out.
Believe the insurers always say no first. If 10 bikes get stolen and 10 riders/ owners get a "NO" only 8 will complain then they've saved quite a bit of money.
The down side is I now have an insurance history and although I could buy a new bike the insurance would kill me :-(.

Death to the scum that steal bikes. Preferably a slow and painful one.

  10. Shouldnt be that bad multi. If its only one claim, and if you have some ncd, you dont lose all just some.

  11. Indeed, I had to claim for the theft of my bike Ninja last year and didn't seem to effect my premium at all

  12. Back of a van job IMO.........that's how most bikes get nicked these days IMO...........quick and easy.

I have made and fitted a mercury tilt switch and 110db siren to mine..............it goes off the moment the bike is brought nearly upright to kick the sidestand up...........it also has two flashing LEDs which don't drain the battery much.

  13. I have looked at my insurance and there is a clause about being within 500 meters of the garage and increasing the excess amount. The rear access to the garage is a bit treacherous and unlit, the bikes headlight is not really enough to stop it being a bit hazardous in the dark. About to ring the insurers wish me luck.
