Stomp This To Death.

  1. Exactly. They won’t be able to police it, but the insurance companies will be more stringent when inspecting written off bikes.

  2. Agreed, it's the only way it can be enforced if you're unfortunate to end up in that position.

  3. Can one assume this new legislation isnt for cars too and barry essex in his amg will still be allowed to screams past my house every morning at 6 bells with his monstrously loud exhaust pipes?

  4. hmm, the lad better get a shufty on and get his test done then. i cant see his Aprilia rx50 thats now an 80cc with sports exhaust exc being v,popular with plod.

  5. I took the 20 minutes. The logic is filled with holes but that said I do kinda agree that autonomous vehicle software needs to be held to some kind of standard.

My car has a useless lane leaving system that on wide single track lanes tries to steer me towards oncoming vehicles because I get close to the grass verge. I know which one I would prefer to hit.

This software clearly needs more testing on the roads in the UK.

  6. Way more testing and this is an area that real global legislation is critical for developers to follow when building decision trees in coding

  7. And of course, this never happens.....right???

  8. Well I certainly took the time to properly read and respond to the various questions posed within the survey. It took me about 30 minutes all told, especially with some of the supporting answers I submitted, based upon my individual opinion(s).

Far too wide in terms of the approach and intent.

Some areas have limited merit as I see it, particularly those regarding autonomous vehicles, which I appreciate and acknowledge will at some point in time, make their way onto the roads network. A serious area of concern, for me anyway, requiring a lot of further scrutiny and attention, before they are 'enabled' to be used.

God forbid, it still remains bad enough these days seeing people using mobile phones whilst they are driving. We need to focus on areas like this and to ensure the offenders are actually given the legal retribution/outcomes and enforcement so say, 'out there', necessary to stop this continuing to happen.

It's all very well talking about applying the appropriate levels of legal review and enforcement with respect to these proposed changes in legislation and intent, but currently the EA, the justice system and numerous other enforcement bodies are already struggling like hell to survive and provide even a limited semblance of scrutiny and associated action, with funding cuts and people numbers being cut to the bone.

How the heck this little lot will be set-up and enacted, remains so far away from reality as I see it, but then again, I could be wrong!

  9. Things being "far away from reality" has never dampened the enthusiasm of certain people and groups for them, has it now? Or even stopped them coming to fruition. Wonder what I could be thinking of? Hmm.

  10. Speed limiting and tracking is easy. All modern cars already have that tech installed. Or the vast majority at least.

    • Agree Agree x 1
  11. Yes it would be comparatively simple to enable a geofenced speed limiter option (except you won't get the "option" bit, no doubt) in most modern vehicles...

  12. That's good news for a change.

However it means that my Ti cans on the KTM would be illegal if applied retrospectively as they don't have CATS.

THe big, fat ugly OEM ones did and both Ti units weighed less than one of them; and thy are really loud.

I wish I hadn't sold them on for a pittance now!

    .

  13. So…you can’t change your cans or system (emissions), add power commander or have remap (electronics and emissions)

Guessing we’ll all be adding anodised bling for then. Buy shares in probolt amd rizoma

  14. So complete the survey and make it quite clear you don't accept the proposal and government intentions!.......:bomb:
