Try coating everything (not disc's!!!) in ACF-50, brilliant stuff and well worth the dosh, think it's around £15 a tin at the mo. Here's a blog somebody posted ages ago:- F2MCLTD: Winter Salt Protection - ACF50, FS365 or WD40 Hope it helps.
Nickmarieke, I am also thinking of sending all my bolts off my 900ss to Mark in Redditch. Did you make a list of what you sent to ensure you got everything back? vtwin
I have used Redditch Electroplating several times now for both Ducati work and also Suzuki and Yamaha parts and will continue to use them as they do a good job. The last time I used them certain parts went missing, possibly lost by the courier on the way there or back as there was certainly a small hole in the box on arrival although that did not account for some larger items that went missing. I make an inventory of everything I send and what colour it should be as some bikes require not just the Yellow passivate but Clear or Green. My last one ran to 4 pages and hundreds of items. Make sure you pack everything really well as if anything goes missing in the post then it is hassle replacing the parts. In my case it cost nearly £200 to buy in all the parts that went missing, so lesson learnt. Currently I have the replacement parts now waiting to be done again. If it's important log it and even photograph it if necessary.
