  1. I ended up going with Bemoto / Axa Insurance - the quote was suspiciously just £5 less, so £361 (I made mistake of telling them what my Ducati Insurance quote was), but at least I'd heard of the underwriter. I also had a higher mileage use (< 4K miles).

They tried to upsell me on that Excess refund thing, at which point I remembered to mention 44teeth and got that for free. I'm also in the draw for a Panigale V4S, which I hope I don't win, because I don't think I can face sorting out insurance again for another 12 months ;)

    Collection day tomorrow!

  2. Excellent Snips. Good effort remembering to mention 44T.
Do you still need me to look for space for a tracker? I had not forgotten but haven't really had time.

Hope collection goes well. The weather is brilliant!

  3. Thanks @Jimmy the hat the quote I received didn't include the tracker, so I will use it if I can, but it's not critical, so I can check myself, cheers.

The weather is great, excited for tomorrow - expect pics!

  5. Fair point! :upyeah:

  6. My collection day is bumped until tomorrow.

I'm having the indicators switched to the DP dynamic LEDs, and apparently that requires some sort of damping weight part to stop the headlight wobbling, and that hasn't arrived in time.

That's OK, another day of anticipation!

  8. That's interesting. How do new indicators affect the headlight - they're nowhere near it. I've got a set of those DP LED's too, and I was planning on fitting them myself when my bike arrives, so I'm looking forward to finding out what that's all about.

  9. It's here! 50 miles in (beautiful day for a new arrival!) and I can already tell I'm going to love it. Gently running in so keeping it in Road mode, and under 6K rpm until first service. Helpfully, the tacho changes colour to let you know when you're approaching 6K.

So far, super happy, feels very much like my 959 Corse, but more comfortable and better visibility, exactly as you'd expect. Sounds great even though I had underbelly Akra's on my 959 - I'll miss the pops and bangs though ;)

The mirrors are metal stems, and a huge improvement over my 959 - rock solid and clear.

The only thing I'm not quite happy with is the play in the throttle grip. I know the 'throttle spacers' is a popular mod, but I understood that was to engage throttle on initial twist (I may be wrong). I'm finding that the throttle grip appears to be a slightly wider diameter than the throttle tube it twists around, so over bumps the throttle grip feels like it bounces around the tube, somewhat disconcertingly. I didn't have that problem with my 959.

The new dash and switchgear are a big improvement - I don't find the display too small like some reviewers have said. Cruise control and SatNav would be nice though.

Also, I want to mention the great Sales service I received from Charlotte at Vindis Ducati Cambridge. It was refreshing to deal with someone who calls back without needing to chase, and she dealt with my list of persnickety requests perfectly :upyeah:

If you want to play spot the difference from stock, I've listed the mods made so far, below the pic.

  10. Fantastic! Your bike looks amazing, and you’ve got exactly the same accessories as I’m getting. The only other things I’ve ordered is the fly screen and Akra silencers (but there are big delays on the exhaust).

  11. Cheers.

Excellent choice of mods ;) I'm super happy with the monoposto conversion. The 959 seat cowl still had a black plastic centre, which looked like it was still some sort of ridiculous miniscule seat. The entirely enclosed V2 seat cowl is a big improvement.

I'm going to try and live without the fly screen, as I do like the 'low' dash look. I am also trying to resist going down the carbon route... long and expensive... but mmmmm, matte carbon... maybe just the hugger...? ;)

Dead envious of the Akras. I got my 959 Akras as a special deal (£800 incl. lower fairings) because the Euro 4 legal exhaust on the 959 was just so ugly. Unfortunately, I really just can't justify them at full price - kudos to you for going All In.

My dealer told me I am lucky to get my bike early as some have been delayed, and they are super busy. She said many bikes for new orders aren't available until end Summer, and some are going into next year! Hope you get your bikes soon, and I look forward to seeing it with the Akras.

  12. The bike looks amazing Snips. Enjoy the miles to come.

  13. Looks awesome Snips. I have the Evotech tail tidy ready to go. Our number plates down here are a different shape to yours - ours are longer but shorter, so I'm worried the plate will cover the DP indicators unless I add all the spacers, which looks a bit ugly. Next time you speak to your dealer, could you please ask what the damping weight issue is? I'll either order whatever parts I need, or if it's complicated I'll get the shop to fit mine before delivery. Cheers.

  14. Very happy that the weather played ball.
    Looks great.
Saw the demo, parked outside at Ducati Preston in torrential rain a few weeks back and it didn't quite look as good as yours.
Felt a bit sad seeing it out in those conditions.

  15. The throttle spacers do help with the throttle slop on the bar a little, not sure why really but they do, and the action is improved massively

  16. Yeah, ‘throttle slop’ is a perfect description for the issue. Thanks for clarifying on spacers. I don’t really want to have the throttle control apart, so I guess I’ll just live with it.

  17. Let me know if I can provide some measurements for you: Evotech tail tidy + DP LED indicators.

Thanks, I will try and find out more for you re: the damper.

  18. It’s a 2 minute job, and something I’ll do the minute mine arrives.

If it’s the same as the 1260, it’s one screw, remove a bit of trim, pop the spacer in, then put it all back together. I’m cack handed when it comes to doing anything on the bike, but this was one of the easy jobs.
