Streetfighter V2

Discussion in 'Streetfighter' started by Snips, Sep 27, 2021.

  1. Put around 100 miles on the demo bike, and bloody love this bike. On the way over, I was thinking I’d probably back out, but my god what a machine, there’s no way I’m cancelling!

So much more comfortable than the SFV4S, with a more road orientated riding position. Power delivery was sublime. Suspension soaked up the bumps. On greasy roads, the tyres did a fantastic job.

Up to about 85mph, buffeting was manageable (depending on wind direction), but I’m going to get the fly screen, as I’m immature and have no off switch, so need to look after my neck.

    Roll on March!

  2. Just saw this. Cold wet roads, but worth a look.

  3. Has anyone had any issues insuring the new V2SF yet? I called my insurer on Monday, they had to refer it to the underwriters as it’s not on the system, then when they came back with a quote it was a lot more expensive than I was expecting.

  4. I cant find any either, I even tried putting the Demo reg details in but it pulls up a V2.

I am hoping between now and the 1st of March the SF will become available. You would think that the cost is about the same as a V2 but we will probably get screwed.

  5. If not to intrusive would you mind sharing your quote please. Thanks.

  6. I was quoted £470, with a clean licence and 12 years no claims. My 1260, which is more powerful and worth more cost under £300 to insure, for comparison.

  7. Thanks, I did a quote on a V2 and its £450 so its about right I guess. My old SF848 was £160!

  8. Ouch - is this typical for a new model with no historical data?

  9. I think so, I searched the forum a weeks ago and it seems to be a common occurrence.

Evo Tech seemed to have added a pillion peg removal plate to the website. Have you seen it?

I wish they had stock of the tail tidy and rad guards!

  10. Sadly, been burnt like this many a time with buying a new model.
It will cheaper in 6 months once the appraisal of the rating is done. Until then you have to either bite the bullet for this year or wait:worried:

  11. I went with Ducati Insurance when I got my Panigale V2 as some of the quotes were a little high, they weren’t silly unlike some quotes others got but Ducati insurance had the model loaded.

  12. Yeah! I noticed that yesterday, and added a notification for when they are in stock. I was a bit disappointed as I definitely want to remove the rear pegs, like I did on my 959 but that didn't require a support as I had underbelly Akras - hadn't considered V2 exhaust would need one.

I didn't notice a DP hanger listed when I browsed which is another reason it didn't occur to me - maybe they don't usually offer those.

  13. Same for me. I did some reading based on the V2 and believed you just needed some washers which came with the bike to remove the pegs. More £ and waiting for them be manufactured now!

  14. I’ve ordered the rear seat cowl with mine, and that includes pillion peg removal, so will see what’s included when the bike comes.

  15. I ordered one as well. Did not know it came with pillion peg removal. Thanks for the information.

  16. Anyone know if the bars/bar ends are the same size as the V4. I'll be waiting till around June or July for delivery down here in NZ so I thought I'd start buying bits, such as Rizoma bar end mirrors, but there's no info as to whether the mounting kit will be the same as the V4.

  17. I've ordered a seat cowl, will be very interested if that includes a hanger - sort of makes sense. I know it's illegal to have a seat with pegs, but I don't think it's illegal to have no seat but pegs.

I just checked and Ducati accessory listing of cowl makes no mention of a hanger - where did you hear it does @Multirider75 ?

PS. I'm loving the excitement of the group of us awaiting our SFV2s!

  18. It's a bar rather than clip-ons, of course, but I just checked the Ducati accessory page (because I already had it open to check seat cowl ;)) and the Rizoma bar ends listed for Panigale V2 and SF V2 are the same, PART NO. 97380861AB

  19. Awesome thanks for that. Is the V4 part number the same as well? I'm guessing both SF's have the same bars.

  20. On the configurator when you select the seat cowl, the pegs disappear from the picture. My dealer also confirmed that it includes the peg delete and that I’d get the pegs in a box.
