Trouble is when private sellers see adverts like this they automatically think that's what theirs is worth ..... dream on. Ducati 900 SUPERLIGHT (1992) Motorcycles for sale | 3016638 | MCN I spoke to a guy who had a SL for sale and he mentioned this advert, I just said goodbye.... Having said that if I had a SL I also would get as much money for it as possible. But there's no way they can be worth anything like this sort of money. Think this one sold for £4800. I remember in 1997-98 dealers couldn't shift them even Carnells were trying to sell them. Still want one though
I was always wondering what is the difference between 900SS of that era and 900SL? When I look at them I notice square headlight first then see no other difference. P.S. Do not want to start war here just want to know.
My Mk1 went for just shy of 4k at the end of 2009. In hindsight I probably let it go a little too cheap, but not by much. I think the Mk1 is worth a premium over a stock 900SS as it is a little bit special, with the Marvic/Akront wheels, carbon bits, open clutch cover, single seat, high level cans, fully floating discs. It seems though that the silly SL prices appear to be dragging 900SS prices up too. What I have never understood is the daft prices paid for SL's later than the Mk1. There's really not that much difference between them and a SS. Certainly not enough to justify to 2-3k price difference that I have seen.
I reckon there might be, although you see a lot of auctions end early as there is someone who really wants to secure the bike and offer big money outside the auction. This hasn't happened so maybe, just maybe, I'll go for sub £4k..
£3.55k and still going (and reserve not reached) - surprised me - a neighbours went for half that only 3 years ago.
Chris, The Bordi Era dukes are getting very sought after. From the 851 onwards which now includes the SL and SS. Carby. But according to 848 owners we only clean them... Lol 848 owners will want to swap soon but i would rather stick wasps up me arse than ride A common jap clone mass produced 848.. Stick yamaha on the tank and you have the new TRX 850.
Proper bee in bonnet eh about 848 riders...funny enough I see loads of old SS bikes banging about, even the occasional yellow one. Go forever.
Banter Bradders and not at you....lol I think we all will be glad to get out on our bikes if this shite weather would piss off.
You should have a nip into Motorido, Wilf seems to be building a Sammy Miller type collection of vintage Ducati bikes in there incl one which looks like it should have pedals! Lol
Just over £4k then, looked pretty, you pay your money you take your choice. No point being the richest person in the graveyard !
I bid a couple of times - don't know why he didn't advertise originally that he had the ORIGINAL silencers, footpegs and all stamped manuals etc. I didn't read the bottom Q & A's until it was too late. I would have bid a bit more, but not sure I would have gone to £4k. You don't get many like that come up.
I would love an original SL but if I spent that kind of wonga on one my other half would remove my reproductive organs in a very un-subtle manner
that one was good - this one is even better :- Ducati Superlight Mk V No 114 For Sale (1998) on Car And Classic UK [C371896]
Very Nice - don't know why but i've never liked KPH speedo bikes ( especially as these are nearly all MPH ) always remind me of the 'grey' imports of the nineties and those mushroom things on fairings !!! ....
couldn't see where it confirms 'km' clocks tric? - mushrooms are removable of course as they coincide with the fixings.
