I've had the bike from new, its hard to see unless you're at the right angle. In between other bikes its not obvious, probably easier to see 20 ft away but only in the right light, and quick wipe with acf50 and its gone until it dries slightly. It was mentioned at the 600 mile service but I was told its a casting mark and they all have it. I must admit I would say it looks like a boot mark from the picture, but the mark does extend behind the heel plate.
I have one also, it's really faint and almost looks like a shadow from the heel guard but it's not, here is a pic, in some light it shows really clearly.
both marks on either swing arm areon opp sides, looks like it could be a clamp mark or somethng when they are spraying up the bikes or whatever, but iffy to say the least.
