748 Swingarm Pivot Removal

    Hi mate.
    I have just removed my pivot and it was stuck fast. No amount on hammering would move it. The shaft gets corroded to the bushes. I made a puller with a piece of 10mm thread bar and some big washers. A 12mm socket is almost identical to the diameter of the shaft so I used one as the bit that pushes the pivot shaft out. I also made a bush out of brass that fits inside the frame lug to protect it during the operation.

    Soak the pivot with anti seize (WD40 etc) for a few days prior then feed the thread bar through the centre of the shaft.

    fit the socket and a nut on the right hand side and locate on the shaft end.

    Then fit the bush, washer and nut to the left side and tighten up.

    when it start’s move my you will need a piece of pipe to pull it into. I used a big socket first and then changed to a piece of pipe.
