  1. Thanks, there was one earlier in the day in qualifying with leg injuries.

  2. Observations of this trip, one lady caught crossing the road after it was closed, straight to court £1,500 fine, one bloke threatening a marshal with an axe, arrested and locked up, two different cases of vehicles going the wrong way over the mountain, one case was a pair of bikes, don't know the punishment, one lad caught traveling at 124mph in a 50 restricted road, there will be many more I haven't heard of, police have a field day with the speed guns.

  3. Ffs, a senior member of penz 13 bought the s4rs off me, commiserations to all of them he must be hurting bad....rip to the lad tragic

  4. The deaths you know are going to happen but you don’t like hearing about it , all the competitors know they are a hairs width away from death or serious injury but they come in droves , Michael Dunlop is probably the best example lost his dad brother and uncle to motorbike racing but he’s there doing it I saw him on something where he said the buzz he gets from the tt he would still do it for free as he said you just can’t get it from doing something else , respect to the Isle of Man for not tampering with it , it’s pure racing in its purest form

  5. His wife has an amazing attitude. I hope there is some widows support mechanism to ease the pain. I would gladly contribute even though I have not been to the island for years.

  6. I'm in no way on the 'ban the TT' bandwagon but with every rider killed I just loose a little more interest in following it. I think for the last 3 or so years I've been watching it less and less.

  7. If you see how many racing miles are undertaken at the TT ,and then think about how few accidents there are ?

  8. I'd say other way around TBH. Death per mile vs other racing (non road circuits) I'd think would be far higher. Given a MGP race is c70 miles, and there are 17 or more each year...

  9. Yep - they sure were.....eventually we tended to stay more in the south of the island where the plod were virtually none existant...didnt stop my mate getting pulled (in the north) for a strip plate....which in my opinion wasnt anywhere near as bad as virtually all of the paddy's, some were literally letraset...

  10. I am trying to find the number of practice and race laps completed, but i remember reading a article and it was many thousands of miles ,maybe ten thousand per TT. Just think if thousands of people climbed Everest, hundreds would die .

  11. You only have to watch the TT on tv to realise this is a totally different type of motorcycle racing. No run off, ridiculously long laps, unbelievable wear and tear on both rider and machine and the most incredibly modest, but brave riders. This is riding at a subliminal level.
Just go and see it for yourself before it is banned.

  12. It can’t compare, or I don’t see how. A MGP weekend has three classes, 4x45min practice plus qualifying then a 70 mile race. About average 25 riders per class. So 30k miles per race weekend. And a casualty every few years or so.

Not being arse or antagonistic, just the TT is what it is: the ultimate in dangerous road racing and test of man and machine.

  13. Fantastic result for Dean Harrison in the senior, long overdue:upyeah:

  14. Was a great result for Deano, I’ve had the pleasure of chatting to him a few times at the TT these past few years.
He’s a top character as is his dad Conrad.
There’s going to be some titanic battles between him and Hicky in the future, I’m hoping Micky D will be up for the battle as well.
    Roll on next year.

  15. Really pleased for Dean with a well deserved win, as he said To finish first first you must finish, feel sorry for Hickman though as he was miles ahead before the bike started spewing water out and he had to back off.

  16. Happy for Dean as well but it looks great going forward with new lads coming up. MD will be in the mix next year as well. I was tough watching John M, last year maybe? Hicky is wicked fast on that superbike.

  17. It’s a fabulous spectacle the TT. First time I’ve been this year, but certainly not the last.
Every single one of these riders gets my unrelenting respect. They are without doubt a different breed and anyone with the balls to attack that course the way they do , a course that is over 37 miles long with constantly changing track and weather conditions , unbelievable. And 6 laps of it too.

These guys raced nearly as far as it was for me to travel from home to the Isle of Man itself. At an average speed of over 130 mph. Nutters :joy:

  18. As you say, there is no comparison with Moto Gp, but as for racing miles i was meant to say approx 10000 laps with practice, qualiyfying ,races etc , so about 370 000 racing miles .
