Don't want to up-stage Mike/Yellow Shed.... Few updates to 748/MTS1200 project. I've had an electrical issue that had been driving me nuts! But I think/hope I've solved it now... Turned my attention to more athletically pleasing bits and bobs..... I've added some nice Corse 'style' rear-sets, plus a pair of CF airbox sides, I also had a go at adding some vinyl number boards/patches, which I f*cked right up! I then took the seat unit to a local sign/vehicle wrap place who did it properly for me. Very pleased with the result, breaks up the slab side/ non-vented seat unit pretty well...:Artist: I do have a 'race' seat unit coming from china, but knowing me I'll consider it way too precious and it will end up hanging on the wall in my office...ompus: Assuming the electrical gremlin has f*cked off, I'll be taking her off to CJS when 'Im back from Almeria.
My Chinese seat unit arrived today. I wasn't at all happy with the slab look of the plain red one. There's a few selling road seat units on ebay. I emailed a couple asking if they'd make me a 'race' version. One seller responded, and it cost me an additional £10. Looks like they plastic weld material in to the light cut outs. Overall pretty pleased with it. The pictures on the listing show mesh in the larger holes, this is missing, also looks as if the 'i' must have lifted off the decal when being applied I actually find this sort of thing comical! Fit is damn near perfect - no probs. Finish is 'ok' 7/10. When you look at what the genuine oem ones are selling for now, I think these make a good viable alternative. Prob wont suit Mr Anal, but more than ok for normal road/track use...:Artist:
does look better than the slab one for sure.. shame about the missing mesh and the I, but it looks good from here! how much was it?
Came painted as you see it. Colour looks fine under the light I've viewed. Would have to see in sun light to say for certain. Even has the inserts fitted for the rear light.
Shoved her out into the daylight to have a proper look at the seat unit. I'd say the colour is maybe a little less 'bloody' than the oem, but hardly noticeable! Good enough... Right - time to stop fecking about and pack for Almeria...
