Tax Changes Affect Goods From Eu To Uk

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Longdog, Jan 4, 2021.

  1. When I was living in Sweden, R&G wouldn't send there either. They told me to purchase from their agents/resellers closer to me, which usually had to be businesses in Northern Germany if you wanted access to the whole range. Postage charges were often eye watering, just because they could.

  6. I wonder with all this fish that can’t to to EU if the price of fish and chips will go down, it’s a bloody luxury on London prices?

  8. It seems they aren't going out to catch any at the moment. Prices might go up instead.

  9. Only if you like Mackerel or Herring and chips
In one of the "so stupid it would be funny if it weren't tragic" twists of the brexit debate the majority of the Cod we buy for consumption in this country comes from Norwegian and Icelandic fishing grounds that we have now found our fleets denied access to under the same rules that we deny "them" access to our fishing grounds and the majority of the fish we catch is exported to the EU as we don't tend to each much Herring in this country, exports that are currently being delayed sufficiently to make the catch unusable.

    Still, Blue passports. Control.

  10. The fishing issue - *sure, we take back control of our waters but at the expense of frictionless trade with our biggest market* - has been pointed out endlessly by sceptics of Brexit.

But Leavers like Farage and Redwood were still banging on about “control of our waters!” right up-to the final days of negotiations.

Not sure they’re talking about it now mind... Farage is moving on to challenging the whole Lockdown thing.

He is just an unprincipled agitator.

  11. I don't think a sense of humour was included in the deal, I certainly didn't see it on the side of a bus.

  13. I don’t like mackerel or herring, can we rejoin the EU please, I hope mushy peas come from UK?

  14. I think so. Was illustrating that it wasn't just France that R&G were weird with, and that my experience was long before Brexit implications.
It's just the way they chose to do business, for the parts I was after at least.

  16. Even that picture is wishful thinking. This is the colour of the real deal. 16101206224842121053920671833354.jpg so fish is a red herring and the passports are black.
    Is there anything left?
