Ha ha I was waiting for the bollocking for my comment. I'll have to just eat a tablespoon of cement and harden up
FYI, when I had mine remapped CJS in Bristol and BSD in Peterborough were the only 2 tuning/dyno firms able to do the new (then) Siemens ECU the 796 used as apposed to the more common Magneti Marelli ECU's on other model Duke's. I'm not sure but there may well be others now. I took mine to Mark at BSD and can highly recommend them, they're happy to book a "while you wait" appointment plus provide free tea and internet access too, sorted
Yeah all I seem to have found is CJS and BSD, I think I'm going to go to BSD because they are a fair bit closer to me in Blackheath than CJS. I like the while you wait job too, makes it all the much easier. Thanks for the tip!
Hey Isaachunt, As my exhaust research continues I'm now thinking about going down the path of modifying the stock exhausts a little like you have done, but probably not to the extent of shortening them. I've found this mod to open up stock exhausts... Motoman's Ducati Hypermotard Stock Exhaust Mod Slightly less involved than what you did shortening them also..Chopped exhaust | Ducati Forum I really like the sounds of yours though and I also like them shorter too. You took the cat out but didn't do anything else did you other than chopping a couple of cm out? Have you also had it mapped since you removed the cat? I'll probably try to buy an additional set of stock cans so that I can revert back to originals if needed of if I phark it up. I can only seem to find 1100 second hand stock cans on ebay.. does anyone know if I can use them on a 796.. any major difference. Thanks all
My mate had a bit of a job welding them (matching the rods or something) but did a great job. I kept my standard exhaust and bought a second set (off a 1100 so no bother but don't pay too much). I haven't had it mapped but I have fitted O2 eliminators and a dp ecu (ran it for about a year with standard ecu).
