Whatever you wish to spend on a system is neither here nor there, but calling anything that's not Termi or Akra a cheap copy is ridiculous . I don't believe companies like Arrow , Yoshimura, Leo Vince etc consider them selves knock offs, and as my ZZR had full Ti akropovic system on it but my brothers bike has Arrow, I can hand on heart say , the Arrow comfortably feels a match in quality and materials. Do you actually believe the likes of the above companies do no research and development on their systems, which by the way are full, not a decat and ends cans....
Got to admit I bought my sss as a two up sports tourer! albeit with the emphasis on the sports side of it but i don't think it looks bad with the panniers on, so I tend not to take them off its nice to have a practical all rounder in the garage. I think that's part of the beauty of this dike it realy is a jack of all trades. Still holding out for exhaust options that don't make it a one trick pony if I wanted that I would have bought a panigale !
Panigale would mostly be wasted on me unfortunately, my skills (lack of) wouldn’t justify it. That and the crap and congested state of the U.K. roads. Hopefully the Supersport is a good compromise in that respect, sporty’ish bike but not a focussed and uncompromising missile. In due course it will be joined by a CCM Flat Tracker for hooning about fun. Never really been interested in touring, just day trips. Appreciate I’m missing some experiences out, but so be it. As for exhaust prices, it’s a sad fact of life that if you buy an automotive product that is perceived to be in some way premium or higher end then accessories for it are likely to cost a premium also.
We know about these. The QD one, to me, is plug ugly and suffers from the same problems as the Akropovic and is still too expensive. The Competition Werke will have another $331 (£232) duty on top of that price by the time you get in the UK, making it nearly £1200 which is a bit nearer to reasonable.
I would not want the QD or the Akro as they both ruin the beauty of that bike. The CW one is more like it, but as Derek say is far too expensive for what it is.
I’m working on the import duty got couple of friends go back & too quite a lot...David Lilley | General Manager Jack Lilley Triumph - Ashford are Uk Werkes dealers but was dearer than fleebay his currency conversion was £1 = $1!
Oh fuck me.....Wish you had said earlier. I stand corrected then, that is now a bargain, thanks dude, rushing out to order as we speak
The Termi is now available from BR Special Tuning, the UK distributor, at £963 with the option of an upmap available in March/April.
Its a beautiful system, is it rude to ask what the total landed cost is? I've written to Jack Lilley but sadly no response.
Its somewhere in region of £1200 with the import duty & a baffle...Not as cheap as the termi but in opinion looks better. Jack Lilley quoted me £/$ which worked out dearer to buy direct from werkes through him then through shift tech on fleabay
Looking forward to seeing the termi fitted, Derek. Still don't understand why no one in the UK with some exhaust welding experience has not come up with a CW copy, cannot be difficult for a country with so much manufacturing history. I agree that the "wheelbarrow" Acra looks dreadful.
