So how does that prove the cans were modified by the owner of the bike? And not by whoever they were bought from? After all we are talking about aftermarket cans here. Anyone here been charged with fraud for 'modifying' labels on exhausts and not someone who knows someone's uncle's friend out of the pub who has. Thought not! Like I said its not gonna happen.....
I did say theoretically! Just as a matter of interest, has anyone read any of the recent threads about tracks suffering from threats of closure / reduced numbers of days for trackdays due to noise problems....
There is a lot of "percieved wisdom" and urban myth being repeated on this thread. The fact is - if you have a can on your bike that is marked "not for road use" or "race use only" then you ARE committing an offence. Doesn't matter if you cover up the bit that it's stamped on or not. Doesn't matter who fitted it. If you make a lot of noise you can get nicked for it. Doesn't matter if it's passed an MoT or not... However - the chance of getting nicked, especially now there are so few traffic police on the roads, is quite small. "Yer pays yer money, yer takes yer chances..."
