1199 The 1199s Is Gone :(

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by J0n3s, Apr 27, 2014.

  1. @Biot I will do. I have the full Termi system fitted and I'll pop the tiny baffles in before testing. It could be a short day :)

  2. Didn't Ducati have words with the tracks and trackday organisors about this? You'll fail the static but pass the driveby and the testers should be aware of this and will not bother with the static test. One of the other threads is about it.

  3. Depends on the track and noise tester. My Pani S with std pipes would be OK at one MSV circuit (Snetterton) and put through the ringer at the next (Cadwell). Regardless of the TDO, MSV do the testing, and the testers at different circuits do it how they please.

At Cadwell last year, I mentioned to the tester that MSV recommended testing Pani's at 45 degrees to the exhaust outlet and the bike leant over. His look of indignation was priceless.

I'll be OK, there's a fair few mates going and the banters worth the TD fee alone.

  4. Did you get on ok at Cadwell? I really want to do Cadwell and it would be good to do it on the Panigale.

  5. I did, the sound tester didn't write the noise level on the sticker :) As everyone says, they test loud static but (mostly) don't trigger the track sensors.

  6. Ta.
Mmmmm, heard of one guy with an 899 who got turned away at Oulton. Lost his money too. Friends 848 with termi's & baffles in failed the static last year and just scraped through on the ride by at Oulton!
I heard 'Bike' mag are taking an 899 on to Oulton tomorrow on their 'reclaim the track' thing tomorrow. Have spies out to see if that goes on :Cyclops:

  7. The 899 is supposed to be louder on std pipes than the 1199. Can't figure that myself.

  8. Me heard that too. Mate with 848 wants an 899 but does track days so wants to wizz round & round but affraid he'd get turned away all the time and waste his sponds (money).
I've tried an 899 and it is (mechanicaly) loud. Very odd. very comfy too
