1098 The 5 Best Items To Improve Your Bike

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Wazza, Jun 16, 2016.

  1. My 1098R has a quick action throttle and when pulling away and extra 1/4mm turn on the throttle has it revving to 8,000RPM and you looking like a right plonker.

Couple this with a light mass flywheel which means it loves to stall when pulling away and gearing that will allow it to do 70MPH in 1st, I wonder why I love it so much. :Woot:

  2. The R1 throttle has a slightly larger diameter drum, which is why you get more pull for a given amount of twist. This seems to be the perfect amount for eliminating all the slack from the Ducati cables - was on mine anyway and lots of people seem to find the same.

  3. Caeful, if you dial out too much the bike will rev when you turn the bars

  13. Don't expect too much.
It is a worthwhile improvement but a relatively subtle one as far as twist required goes.
What made it a must have for me was the way it completely eliminated all slack on my bike, which makes for much more predictable control out of slow corners etc.
    piece of cake to fit.

  14. I ve just taken slack up on my the throttle and yes much better but it's still a long twist from start to finish so does the R1 one make for a shorter twist

  15. image.jpeg image.jpeg

  16. It does.
The difference is worthwhile but not enormous.

  18. But in the UK
300 days it rain so much the roads turn to rivers
60 days a year it snows
So that leaves 5 days a year to ride like a Rutter
Do Ducati make jet skis ?
