  6. First two pictures below are from over 10 years ago now when I was running it in Sterilgarda livery

  7. She looks soooooo much better in the standard Red livery Shaun.

What's going on with the Black Frame rails?
Is that a carbon tube cable-tied over the top?

  8. I'll add mine to the mix too......

  9. I'd love a set of Dymags but not in carbon....if only these types of things came up for sale second hand!

Yes I Know these are BST and not Dymags :)

  10. Thanks. I did like the Sterilgarda livery though.

The frame guards are carbon, made by Pierobon.

    https://www.pierobonframes.com/en/product/749-999-frame-protections/

They were used on 999rs WSBK’s back in the day and were just amazingly cable tied to the frame! You can just make out the ties in the bottom picture of the Xerox bike.

  11. Thanks Shaun, that's very interesting.

I'm struggling to see what purpose they serve, but being 'Kit' parts I'm sure they must be useful.
I don't think they would touch down in the event of a crash, and if they did they might just be ripped off being cable-tied.

  12. On my bike……..bling  :joy:

  13. I had both and much preferred the look of the later ones. I had a 999S (nicked) and then a 2005 999R (gorgeous bike, sold it for a song :sob:). Not only did I love the look of them, they rode beautifully too...

  15. Night and day. The R had a lovely business like statico rasp and had far more urgency when you opened the taps. Not mental power but more than enough. Probably the nicest bike I've ever owned. Definitely the one that got away. Bugger!

  17. No, I don’t have any words to describe the bloody thing either…..

    D0949B90-BC2C-414A-AE30-D7E38DA9170C.jpeg

    999RS engine, busted-arse exhaust, home-brewed RS-ified 749R frame etc

FYI, the carbon “tank” is just a cover, to go over a smaller carbon sub-tank….no, I have no idea what I was thinking and I refuse to confirm or deny if alcohol was involved.
