The A272, A32 And Loomies Beware

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Ackers, Jan 18, 2022.

  1. Gawd forbid if some muggle films your fast, sweeping, knee down pass on that B road and you are up in front of the beak the following week for inconsiderate riding......

  2. Nice one Phill. Wack a thread and some pics up please.

  3. And that’s another thing. So many dash cams now. YouTube gold!!
Sometimes when I have a throwback to youth maddie and floor my car, I wonder if a trucker’s dash cam has caught my reg as I’ve shot past…
Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional :p

  4. We've got this to look forward to for sure, sanctimonious righties* dobbing in bikers riding in a "spirited" manner before that door of merriment fully closes, I know someone down Brighton way got an official warning letter after Police had inspected civilian in-car cam footage.

*have to try and even it up at times Mary ;)

  5. I read an article some time ago basically saying that 10 years from now the countryside will be full of angry gammons ragging their ageing sports cars around  Sounds about right. Technology will triumph and the only place for such motoring fun will be country B roads.

  6. for sure with the last bit - i'm sure i'm not alone in having found a secret circuit or two already.

Their food always used to be shite, well it was when I last ate there about 12 years ago, so is it any better now?

  9. NIME. It is still a "greasy spoon" emphasis on "greasy". Andy

  10. Well if that ever happens, I'm prepared to argue my case as none of those things indicate a loss of control and who is the muggle car driver to accurately judge what's safe on a motorcycle. :innocent:

    P.S
Kind of you to assume I'm getting anything down. :p The 80% rule tends to prevent me doing that on the road.

  11. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, and is certainly clean and hygienic compared to say a 1970's transport cafe.
But is reminiscent of a 1970's Wimpy bar instead.

    Coffee is crap though.

But, on a sunny Sunday the carpark is the place to be to see a variety of bikes, not inside.
You just have to ignore the pricks who wouldn't be seen in anything apart from this years pink leathers.

And actually, if you drop in on a weekday afternoon there will still be a couple of old farts about who will be up for a chat.

It's 10mins from my place, so if I do stop it's normally on my way home.

  12. It's always a challenge for a small enterprise to provide a hot food service to cater for a variable number of customers which can often be several hundreds on the day, from a 4'x2' hot plate and a deep fat fryer. Andy

  13. that’s @Rman and Roy! :joy::joy:

  14. I reckon this thread is proving that the forum is a bunch of old fuckers afraid to ride on the roads, because of pot holes and the weather isn't nice and it's dangerous oh and how you can afford a track bike to fuck around on a track day thinking you are so fast. I bet the majority would be using your tyre warmers as nappies.

Fuck off on your track days and pretend you can ride a bike, but never say day to day bikers are a problem.

  15. Well it did used to be a Little Chef and even Starbucks haven't achieved much improvement by painting them all black. :D

Loomies is alright, it's cleanish, the food is edible but not amazing, there's a convienient petrol station next door. It's also in the center a cross roads from 3 bike dealers, Snell in Alton, Destination Triumph Solent and Moto Rapido - Winchester.
The roads around it are decent quality A roads with enough bends to make them interesting so all in all it makes a useful stopping point.

  17. Could go up to Bahnstormer which is not far from there on another good road. Go and look at all the horrid BMWs :D and have a coffee, as they have Cafe next to their showroom.

  18. My personal experience is to avoid bike meeting places after the plod has targeted them.
As after that happens you'll only be putting yourself into the firing line if you visit them.
I experienced this many years ago at Earnie's Tea shack at High beach in Epping Forest, you only needed to stray closely into the surrounding area to invite the attention of the Old Bill, which is something I've never enjoyed/courted.

  19. I can understand your approach but it's a shame it has to come to that, i.e. - avoiding a meeting place.
