the 'Anyone going to Boxhill today?' thread

  1. Get a Scrambler.
Better yet, get two Scramblers, one Triumph, one Ducati. That way you don't have to ask, "Now shall I take the Triumph or the Duc ...".
    Oh. Wait. Never mind.

  2. Good idea loz

  8. Well the unexpected occured on our ride to Beachy head, my magnificent Triumph suddenly developed gear changing problems leaving me with only 3rd and 4th gear, not possible to select anything other than this.
Managed to remove the linkage from the gearbox change shaft splines to investigate but no change when reassembled so abandoned everyone to make my sad, solo, way home.

All going extremely well on the way home , who needs all those superflorous gears anyway with such a flexible powerful engine?

It was going so well just using 3&4 that I forgot about my issues, and subconsiously went to change down into second approaching the slip road for the shoreham flyover, and was surprised to find myself in 2nd gear, tried all the rest of the gears and found all working again as it should.

Would welcome suggestions ( sensible ones) as to what might have occured.

  11. There are loads of trader stalls not included on this poster who are attending.
It used to be held at Haslemere Fire Station - it is worth going to.
I am still waiting for Ducati Italy to finish building my new bike - so I probably won't make it this time.

  12. Weather looking excellent, anyone about today?

  13. Hellish workday ahead but if I get through that, I could be persuaded.

Although, since yesterday afternoon, my 999 doesn't apparently move. No matter what gear or how much throttle, the odometer doesn't increase and the speedo permanently reads 0mph. Weird, because I can feel the rush of air, and the scenery constantly changes  :upyeah:

  17. Well we had a good ride out and enjoyed the weather, went to Bury Hill and chatted for hours as you do, then onto Bognor Regis for fish and chips on the beach.
Chris decided to feed the seagulls with digestive biscuits, then we left and ended up at Box Hill for the evening and caught up with Vince and Stuart.
    Very nice day.:upyeah:
