There is a nice cafe by the bridge at Amberley. They even have a motorcycle bay.Inside and outside seating area, right next to the river.the only possible downside is that it is very popular with old farts!Or is that an upside:biggrin:
Check prices ... as it is a major tourist venue, they used extort handfuls of cash for indifferent beverages! Maybe it has changed ownership??
The Amberley Rd is probably still flooded at present but might be passable for someone with only 3 gears? I like Christopher's idea of a run to the cafe at Hindhead (GU26 6AB) then (my idea) straight down to Midhurst & the biker friendly Verdi cafe in the high street (GU29 9DJ) then A272 loop back to Billingshurst then North to Box Hill. One big loop with some pretty good roads I think. Or continue on A272 to Destination Triumph before going North or parting ways?
I think it has had a new owner for the last couple of years.I think some of the BHB guys boycotted the cafe at whiteways and used this cafe.I have been there a few times and the coffee served in china mugs was good, but a bit dearer than your usual bikers cafe. There is always the Chalet cafe near Cowfold, good value, but I don't go much on their washing up efficiency-some of the plates and mugs looked a bit tired/stained.
I popped into the Chalet yesterday for a slap up breakfast. I'm keeping an eye on the building of the new café at Coultershaw Bridge (GU28 0JE) as it's on the A272 but the whole site was/is flooded. Should be a good stop off point when complete. 1 mile south of Petworth. http://www.coultershaw.co.uk/visiting.htm Here's another handy meeting place just off the main Horsham Dorking Dual carriageway. Warnham National Trust cafe serving typically priced coffee & cake. RH12 2RA http://tinyurl.com/pkcah8o
I'm out tomorrow. It'll be the only good day won't it? So is it Rykas? The Mole is up near the road again I see.
I have a naughty boy speeding course booked for tomorrow, annoyingly the only nice day this week, could always take the bike to the course tho but then have work afters and Friday - sadly the weekend looks to be a wash out
Suggestions for today Newlands corner, 10am coffee and bacon roll. Then ride South about 10:30-45. Comments please or will I be billy no mates.
Sounds ok Aircon Is the route South open for negotiation as I'd rather not ride the road I've just come up on. Anyone else?
