  3. Understood - even as a not very sporty person, I clocked that earlier today in the form of an illuminated road sign on the A3 warning of possible traffic congestion on the 4th.

  4. I’ll be in Morocco. Typical, as the weather looks half decent, first time since about October.

  7. Tried to get down to Newlands Yesterday, managed to blow a fuse on the Dash... Dash failed and I made the mistake of turning the bike off to try and reset it --> schoolboy error, bike wouldn't start and I had to call the AA out in the end. Stuck outside Abinger Hammer about 4 mins from a bacon butty... AA man took 5 mins to spot the issue and fix. I went home with my tail between my legs... cold legs...

  14. apologies for very short notice, but it's the funeral of lovely Simon Paul Haimes today in West Sussex.
Please p.m. me for more details of today, I can't think of anyone on here that knew Simon apart from one, but thought I would post anyway.

Simon passed away in December last year, was one of the oldest and most frequent regulars at BoxHill and had endless stories to tell about not only BoxHill but also his countless motorcycle adventures. If you were to ever call in at Rykas on a Saturday (and often a Wednesday also) after they were closed, Simon would make you a lovely cup of Tea and supply you with a biscuit, no matter who you were, he was generous to a fault and had the heart of a Lion.
Simon nearly died at the TT on the Isle of Man in 1981, in fact technically he did die as they had to revive him at least twice. There were lasting effects from this but he never made a fuss about it, he just got on with it, got on with life, in fact he was one of the most laid-back people i've ever had the pleasure of knowing and I and many others miss him massively.

  17. The council round me in Midhurst seem to have off-loaded a years' supply of salt on the roads last week o_O

  18. OK sees to be a bit subjective - 6deg C, 10% chance of rain and 100% chance of salt on roads doesn't equate to OK in my book. Maybe I'm just a fair weather ponce.

  19. totally understand, i'm only going because I have my scruffy winter bike back up and running (plus I promised organiser John I would be there, as he can't this time).
Will get pics, particularly if good attendance.
