The Biker "Nod"

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by chase, Feb 1, 2014.

  1. I nod at everyone. BMW riders seem not to understand tho.

  2. Ive just bought a Monster as well. Ill have to see if there's a difference in attitude between the reception i get when I'm sat on the 1198 and Il Monstro....

  3. As a recent graduate from the school of L plates, I'll nod to anyone, bar the daft 2 stroke rev n go's.

And nodding to L plate riders is a must, it's a real confidence boost for someone who probably needs it!

  4. Yes, I agree with that - it helps to remember that you too were once riding a CG125; it's just a stepping stone and a valuable learning experience before passing that test and choosing a bike that you really want. As long as it isn't one of those fangled Hardly Dangerous things!!

  5. Never rode a CG125..... FS1E, test on GT125A, graduate to RD350B...............

  6. they're far too busy fiddling with their sat nav, bluetooth, heated grips, on board computer and throttle map settings to notice anyone going in the opposite direction, let alone nodding

  7. Yes indeed I saw a bmw yesterday give him the nod but nothing but then he was in full adventure mode with all his touratwat boxes on probably only going to aldi for some cheap bread

  8. I nod to all but will agree have never hit a nod back of cruisers they must be special ;)

  9. The middle class, middle aged "Hardley Able To" riders are too busy reliving Easy Rider to acknowledge another motorcyclist let alone someone on one of those odd Italian red things.

  10. Meanwhile, the old fossil on the red bike is too busy checking his reflection to notice any other bikes...

  11. When I had my Guzzi in the 80s, it was just the same.....

....Guzzi riders nodded, flashed and waved frantically to each other***......

    ....BMW riders ignored them.........

***Probably because they had broken down or thought we were brave for having one.....

  13. Does anyone know if HD/cruisers nod to each other !!? I know I don’t bother nodding to them as they never return the gesture.
We are a friendly bunch here in Wales, unless you play Rugby !! but lets don’t go there until the 6 nations is over, lol.
    Guvs.

  14. Corrected for you.

  15. It does make me laugh, the people on here who've said 'I wave to everyone - except for...'

They can't see that it is they who are splitting bikers into seperate factions by that simple mindset. They who will kill off the rolling cameraderie that bikers have enjoyed for generations. The biker nod is not exclusive, just remember that.

  16. As I said earlier I nod at them all, most respond, I agree about the 'peds I give them an extra big nod!

  17. Nodded to five this afternoon, three didn't nod back.

  18. Perhaps they haven't read this thread.

  19. Passed a group of 10 bikers going the opposite way, nodded each one and they replied, but god did my neck hurt.

  20. I tend to find sports tourers usually all in black (bike and rider) are ignorant lol.
    Probably born again bikers
