Simpson was born on a mining village in County Durham but there was nothing there in the way of a memorial until a few years ago when Wiggins came to pay homage to his hero and unveil a memorial stone. The ceremony sounds hilarious, I wish I’d been there. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ward-sir-bradley-wiggins-unveils-13630105.amp
Wow you are a cycling God bud, I thought the Marmotte was tough but that's a whole new level of badass
Yeah but as you can see from this forum cyclists aren't admired in Britain no matter the level, just about 80% would rather put you in a ditch than lose a nano second getting to the Post Office.
So true, here too. In Colorado its a sport, in fact a few have gone to jail over it. Boulder CO has a lot of teams train there, so it can be a bit much, but still, that's assault with a deadly weapon right there.
Yeah I loved my Winter holiday in Colorado all those years ago great place. Is Tyler Hamilton from there or just trained there BITD?
I have a friend, a Scottish lass, been over here for 40 years now, an accomplished medaled Triathlete, Ironman AND Ultrarunner who has done and finished the famous Marathon des Sables, a 6 day deal in Morocco, day and night before every event gets tanked on Margaritas or Gin. Says it helps with the pain and she loves tying one on too.
I always fancied the MdS thought I'd get to it after I'd done a couple of Ironman events but it went from a fringe lunatic event to a really popular lunatic event last I heard it back in the late 2000's it was a 2 year waiting list. Those Ultra runs are crazy long.
I do sir. And I owe her my life. 12 years ago I was buried in the bottle, rock bottom, nothing left and a week away from a coffin. I made a call to her, and I'm here today to be able to still breathe and thank her.
My Orange Orange 5 I love it, I ride most days to work only trouble is with this virus thing everyone is out I don't normally see a soul on my way home through Horsell common
Serious distances in the saddle; makes my efforts seem paltry in comparison - well impressed. Ought to get off my b........
Come on Nelson couple more days and you'll be at Drinky's epic levels Yeah more cycling less running bud
We are never, ever going to get close to Drinky's performance, the man is a machine, but would be good to get an idea of distances covered on here, it might spur me on a bit. I am a lightweight, partly age and partly back injury but managed approx 85 m in last week probably because of the sunshine and the painkillers
