I was put off Flanders by some I know who said the it was too crowded unless you got away early. Yeah when I did Roubaix a few years back there was a big mixture. I came into Roubaix town at the end with a group of MTB’ers but just had to drop them with what little pace I had left. Did mine on my Litespeed, double taped bars, 22mm Gatorskins 90 front/100 rear. Yeah I could take my time I guess, my lad though would want a time. Although he could/would just go at his own faster pace he’s hardly likely to get lost. I can understand the purists doing it old school but I’m too old for that kind of suffering.
